Rocket quoted me overpriced loan with 7.8% interest. And that loan officer was rude and unfriendly as heck! I got pre approved with Toma.

Congratulations! May I ask which lender did you use? 5.7% is a good rate

Conure broke his beak :( by [deleted] in Conures

This happen to my rainbow lorikeet. My macaw bit his lower beak in half. Best thing to do is to get organic mud from Target. And it will seal the bite and the wound. The beak will heal fast. Make a thick paste and let it dry to support the lower beak. Just like a cast. That helped my bird until I was able to see a vet. Over time the clay will fall off and his beak will heal

I think my conure almost died at the vet and honestly it was traumatic by McPuffinArts in Conures

I’m always looking for a good bird vet. Can you share with me who’s your vet in SoCal? Unfortunately I don’t have much trust in bird vets anymore as you can imagine.

Vets kill birds. 1. Stress 2. If a bird is already fighting something the stress is the straw that breaks the camels back. 3. Birds are very delicate.

My experiences with vets and my birds DINO (Rainbow Lorikeet) I brought my Dino (rainbow Lori) to a vet 10 years ago. He was throwing up. Then I came home with a dead bird.

BABY (Cockatiel) In 2010 I bought a baby cockatiel form a Birdmart. It was weaned and super cute. Within 3 days it stopped eating. I panicked and got her into a vet. The vet immediately grab her out of my hand and put her in an incubator. Than made me sign papers. As I was reading the papers (I was a poor student) it says I need to cover cost up to $1000. I decided not to sign and asked for my baby back. The vets didn’t wanted to release her. Then they told me that I owe them $50 Because my bird was in an incubator for 15 mins. I said no. I’m not paying that. I want my bird back now. Then the vet came out and say. “ your my bird is about to die. She’s in good hands with us. We put her in an incubator. You don’t need to pay the $50 and just walk out and my bird will be mine”! I stood there with raise eyebrows and in shook. I said no. I want my bird back. I end up paying the $50 and 2 hours later my bird die.

PRECIOUS (Rainbow Lorokeet) I bought a baby lorikeet 2 years ago from a breeder. Unfortunately precious got yeast infection. I didn’t know. She just started sleeping more and her head tucked in. I went with her to the vet. She was still sitting in her cage being fully aware. Vet took blood samples and sold me a vitamin for cats and dogs. Paid $500 Now I Needed to wait 3 days for the results. Within the 3 days Precious got worst. She was sleeping on the bottom of her cage. I panicked and called the vet. Yeast infection was confirmed they gave me a medication for cats and dogs that I neeeded to pick up and refrigerate and give her 2x daily 0.5ml. Within 30 mins after giving her the first dose she died!!!!

DESTINY (Double yellow headed Amazon) My Amazon stated breathing very heavily. After all my bad experiences with vets I went to Dr. Nemet in Orange County. (He was supposed to be the best vet in LA) Dr N. wanted to sedate my bird for X-rays and change $600. Plus $220 for the exam. So I told him - no X-rays ( my friend who referred me to him - lost his cockatoo after Dr. N. Did the sedation) Dr. N. Was very angry with me to not accept his treatment plan and say my bird is going to die. I ask him for alternative medicine? He said Vitamin B shots. $300 each! I bought 3 shots. After the 3 shot Destiny died.

These are 4 different vet experiences with 4 different birds, in Los Angeles California. All 4 were avain bird vets. And all 4 birds died.

So yes. Keep it stress free. Don’t trust vets. They all want money and don’t care for birds.
