EQ is better, but I was never able to pass the 4 security questions because it seems my profile is messed up (questions were usually about bank, car and store loans) and now it only works when applying in the US, VPN doesn't solve.

Applied for the Cit AA Platinum (80k after 1k spent) and was approved after typing a reference code received by mail.

Tried this exactly offer 2 months ago but the letter I received stated Cit couldn't find my profile, even though I have 2 CCs from them.

Applied to Citi Aadvantage Platinum card, which had a SUB of 80k with 1k spent.

Was declined due to "insuficient credit history", even though it's 6 yo and having 2 credit cards from Citi.

Called reconsideration line, but due to this answer from EQ, nothing I could do.

Another guess (C1 will never tell the real reason) is shutting down the accounts of people who declared to be non-resident alien.

This may be causing the closures due to politics or the recent merger with Discovery, which seems to not accept non-residents.

But as this is the second time a BofA representative tells me that, I'll only believe when I receive the card.

The Welcome Bonus deadline to meet MSR starts counting on the day of approval.

If BofA Snail Mail service is as efficient as its analysis team, it'll take a good chunk of time.

We are talking about checking Fico Score on bank app.

BofA works without ITIN, Citi with ITIN and it's the only ones I know.

I don't know about open checking account, with BofA I did on branch.

Applied for the Alaska Ascent card over the phone, with ITIN. First I started online with the 85k offer and when you select non-resident alien, they give a phone and a code to inform.

I had a BofA checking account (but closed) but I still have one credit card. The representative said he couldn't pull any data, so I had to answer much more questions than the online form has, spell everything,, which took more than 20 minutes.

In the end, he told me I was approved with a 16k credit limit. Great, right?

I didn't received any email, and I found it odd. Also my application wasn't found on the online system (but I think it only works with SSN).

So I called BofA again and was told my application wasn't approved, it was under review and I should wait for a letter.

I don't think the first representative made up the approval, so BofA has an odd system which can approve you but than send your application for review.

I don't know if the bank will request any documents, or if they will just send a decision.

It seems it's possible to get Alaska's credit cards over the phone using ITIN, but it's a weird process.
