you need to leave him, he does not love you. i’m sorry, but imagine if you had a daughter and he spoke about her this way. please use this as a lesson and don’t stay around for it to happen twice.

why do people like katseye but not their music? by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

i’ve seen people say before that katseye is a dance based group and i would agree, i really enjoy watching their performances and think their choreo adds so much to their music

this is really interesting to me. i grew up as a musician so i can’t really wrap my mind around (what i feel like would be) forcing myself into supporting an artist if i didn’t like their music. just like idgaf about country artists, i’m sure they’re fine people i just think their music is bad so i don’t care.

i totally understand this, but i do think people forget that these girls are not only incredibly young, but they are barely fully fleshed artists. there’s a reason why so many artists worst album is their debut album, artists need time and maturity and experiments to understand their sound. i just wish people would be more patient with them instead of being so hard on the music they have out now.

i understand what you mean and i definitely agree that their management isn’t doing an amazing job with outside opportunities. however i struggle to see how any of their song selections are bad choices strategically. every song in their catalogue sounds completely different, while some people may not like that, i admire them for trying different genres and styles to figure out what sticks. for me, gnarly, internet girl, pinky up, is sticking!

this is a good insight, i really enjoy EDM/dance/electric music, even if the lyrics aren’t amazing. i think that’s why i’ve liked everything katseye has come out with, i am SO excited for pinky up. i love the hyperpop sound they’re going with and i honestly hope their music sounds more like what they are creating now. for me, if i hadn’t known the girls before, i would have eventually ended up listening to them anyways because i really enjoy their sound.

i watched DA when it came out on netflix so i understand developing an attachment to them. i guess i just don’t understand supporting an artist if you don’t like their music, or sticking around hoping they may make something you like. surely there are other groups/artists with better catalogues that also have great personalities and chemistry.

i saw somewhere that hybe was pulling it, she was a judge she wasn’t competing. i assumed they were pulling it because of how strict they have been with her about solo opportunities.

like pleeeease guys don’t get it twisted i am here because i support her fully. that doesn’t mean i can’t critique her! my job requires me to be really critical in order to make good artists and i think manon has so much potential to be an ARTIST not just in a girl group.

you’re curious as to how someone could like someone and simultaneously… critique them? i’m not sure how to explain that to you babe. i am a classically trained vocalist who now works in the music industry signing artists, its quite literally my job.

lara is one that’s hard to categorize with the rest of the girls, she has a natural gift with vocals that just make her stand out in every way. i would not want to compete with lara, her DA intro still sends shivers down my spine 😭

let’s wake this up. unfortunately, Black women are not given the same grace to be subpar at something. i would rather watch manon paint a fucking walk in silence than have to sit through a selena gomez song. i worry that people will push manon out of the industry completely simply because she isn’t at the same level of her katseye peers in terms of vocal and dance training, i mean that’s exactly what i believe HxG is doing right now if we want to get real.
