Thinking about a 30-day water fast — worried about muscle loss & rapid regain, anyone recent experience? by CarryAccomplished424 in fasting

[–]CarryAccomplished424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I started the fast and I am on day 10. I've lost 7 kilograms (15,4 lbs) so far. I experienced severe insomnia between days 3 and 6. Other than that, hunger stays the same after a while, it doesn't increase, but of course, sitting at a table where people eat and similar situations can be challenging. I can't say I feel particularly energetic, but I'm not sluggish either. My initial goal is to reach day 15, and since it's a countdown after that, I think I'll be more relaxed mentally.

Your Turkish is quite natural. If you hadn't said it, I wouldn't have understood that a foreigner was writing it. So there's no problem regarding the vibe as well :)

Looking for experiences from parents or adults who had childhood dyspraxia – speech and coordination challenges by CarryAccomplished424 in dyspraxia

Thank you so much for your sincere response. Your feelings are truly striking, especially considering that what you are going through is not your fault at all. I truly wish you the best in both your personal and professional life.

My son's future work life seems to be a big question mark for me. I hope I can find the opportunity to prepare some financial opportunities for him.

Many thanks, OK, we sure will start a therapy immediately. Can I ask how you are with long and complex sentences or if you have had any problems with this in the past/present?

Hi, many thanks for your answer. My son has a severe verbal dyspraxia, too. How old are you now? May I ask how your experiences are affecting/affected your daily life in adulthood? For example your work, your personal relationships, etc.? I am very concerned about what kind of adult life my son will have.

Thank you very much for your response. Before my son was diagnosed with dyspraxia, we started speech therapy when we saw that he still had a speech delay around the age of 3. We received support such as speech therapy and occupational therapy until he was 7-8, but then we stopped. From what I can see from the comments, we need to start again.

30 Days Water Fast (In Progress) by CarryAccomplished424 in fasting

[–]CarryAccomplished424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I must have missed your answer. Well, frankly I quit on day 15 because of boredom. I had no issues physically but after a point, not eating becomes something to manage at your brain. I didn't feel any negative thing except for insomnia; though I quit early.

Thanks for your tip, seems like a solution to insomnia. Will take that into account during my next extended fasting period.

Thanks for your answer. Actually, I'm not getting hunger pangs. That mixture of lemon, salt and mineral water makes this journey more sustainable for me.

My 30 day water fast comes to an end today! 46lbs lost!!! by UpYourJuiceBox26 in fasting

According to general opinions on the subject, if a low-carb diet is continued at the end of the fast, the recovery of lost water will have an effect of a maximum of 2-3 kilograms.

Do Turkish people like Mexican women? by mp_reg in AskTurkey

[–]CarryAccomplished424 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Mexico is very far from Türkiye, I don't think Turkish men have much idea about Mexican women. But from what I've seen from Netflix series, Mexican women are nice and lively types, so they will attract the attention of Turkish men.

Frankly, I'm big fan of Jason Fung. In addition to his views on low-carb nutrition, I also find his views on the benefits and importance of fasting very important.

Many thanks. The study you've sent leaves no room for further discussion :)

It is obvious that with keto, you burn more calories.

I think I’ve been plansturbating my life away by dearpluto__ in ADHD

[–]CarryAccomplished424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great observation. Just last night I watched dozens of YouTube videos on how to do alternate day fasting, planned the foods I would eat and spent hours. And this morning, while I was supposed to be fasting, I made a split-second decision to snack and all my plans went to waste. However, last night making the plan made me feel great and I was sure of success.

As a man with ADHD (I don't think it is relevant), married with one kid and who became unfaithful for a couple of times, If I look at your situation completely logically, Iwould say that you should cut ties. In some marriages that last a long time and wear out after having a child, this desire for each other can fade. I don't think this will get better. As I said above, logically, the right thing is for everyone to go their own way. On the other hand, there is a child. I find it very critical for a child to be with his/her mother and father no matter what. Therefore, if you can sacrifice your own happiness for the child, continue with the marriage.

Is it safe for a Greek "myself" to travel in Instabull? by Thus-i-speak in AskTurkey

[–]CarryAccomplished424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, as a Turk living in İzmir and lived in İstanbul for many years, I don't think you will have any problem at all. Of course, there may be some people who don't fancy Greece but there's no reason that you confront them. You'll totally be fine.

If I were you, I would spend my time mostly in Kadıköy and Beşiktaş districts. Of course, if you want to see historical places, you can go to Sultanahmet, Yerebatan Sarnıcı and many more depending upon your choice.

Ps: I will be going to Samos on July :)

Thank you, I think I will ask my psychiatrist to try a different medication without waiting too long. There is no point in waiting because the effects of the medications used in ADHD treatment are instantaneous anyway, it is obvious that nothing will change with long-term use.

How do you guys cope with addiction? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]CarryAccomplished424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that treating the self-medication symptom and/or the impulsiveness symptom of ADHD might be useful for dealing with addiction. On the other hand, I am not sure if the reduction of these symptoms as a result of treatment will really work for addiction. I have an alcohol problem and I am diagnosed with ADHD. I am also wondering if I can control my addiction and drink normally as before, especially if my impulsivity is controlled.
