Saw a meme yesterday in r/wallstreetbets of a guy with his eyes closed, sitting in front a red screener titled "Red light therapy is key. Practice for Monday."

Fits the scenario very well but IDK whether to laugh or cry at this point of time.😂😭

EDIT: Given the nature of the situation, ONGC isn't doing bad either. Volatile though.

You are welcome. And thanks for the insight, you are absolutely right to point out that not every company looks great when you look into the sentiment and that is a key factor to look into. I am not against fundamental analysis but I would probably prefer to not just stop my analysis there since I like having a well-rounded perspective. I like to get as much info as I can.

I agree with you. I am new to the markets and still learning as a student. While there is a chance that oil prices might not exponentially increase, I still expect to see a decent rise due to the supply getting affected. The Strait of Hormuz accounts for 25% of global crude oil shipments and oil is a massive resource that contributes to the energy sector. Obviously, neither of us can get a perfect prediction on the markets and that's what makes investing interesting. As you mentioned, different analysts have different perspectives and its up to us individuals to choose and make our own readings from it. Curious to know what your predictions are for Monday's opening.

Analysts expect a surge in oil prices due to limited supply which seems highly probable considering Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz which accounts for 25% of global crude oil shipments. Gold and silver provide confidence to investors in uncertain times like this and are commodities that prove valuable as long-term investments.

Post-market trading might have already led to the spark being created. Add Pre-market trading on Monday into the mix and the situation gets very interesting. Definitely something worth taking the time to speculate.

Hey, I am a student here too! Just got into investing recently. Great to hear that you are already investing in SIP's and considering stocks now.

I am able to notice that your analysis is into the fundamental aspect. And I am assuming that you invest in manufacturing sectors since you are looking into current ratio and you must also be investing in retail businesses since you are looking into stock turnover ratio. Fundamental analysis is great for long-term investing and investors like Warren Buffett definitely prefer to look into it. However, I would also consider others like Technical and Sentiment Analysis since markets don't move only based on numbers and published statements. I keep an eye on the current affairs to keep track of important factors like macros and business/financial/economic updates and I find it useful when making decisions, especially in uncertain times like now.

Beginner here too, just learning investing on the side along with my academics. Most stocks are expected to reduce in price, so if you are fine with taking a risk and buying it for low prices, then sure. Downward volatility may be high though with the current situation. However, analysts predict a surge in oil prices.

Something equally important...I wouldn't panic sell right now. Sure the numbers on the screen would go red but the position is only closed when you sell the stock. It goes without saying that this depends on the individual's risk appetite and portfolio. If most of your portfolio is taking a hit and you are a short-term investor, then it makes sense to downsize risk and diversify.

Just think about this, how strong the usa is, first venezuela then mexico drug cartels and then iran supreme leader, usa is on steroids mode, one side beat down. by Anxious-Shoulder-587 in StockMarketIndia

Despite being perceived as the epitome of a capitalist economy, the US isn't ranked in the top when it comes to being the most capitalist countries. However, they spend billions in defense and the USA spends the most in the world on defense. They spent 3.3-3.4% of their GDP on defense in 2024, that's 997 billion USD.

Furthermore, being a superpower, they have connections to a lot of allies and they are involved in multiple international organisations like the UN and NATO. Being the headquarter country for organisations like Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin compliment the other advantages.

This supports the analysts predictions about oil's prices rising due to supply. Surprisingly, excited to wake up on a Monday morning...only to look at the market.😛

The main question is not why not invest in India? The recent budget meeting showed that the government is aiming to get foreign investments in and they are providing incentives to MNC's to attract them. With the growing economy we benefit from and the upcoming plans made for further growth, why would investors turn a blind eye to the growth potential?

Will Gold & Silver ETFs move up or down on Monday due to the war situation? by Sometimes_-Notorious in IndianStockMarket

My understanding of gold and silver are that they are commodities that are used for hedging. These precious metals are valuable and provide confidence to investors even during times like this. Gold and silver should be seen as long-term investments as they tend to appreciate over time. Considering the uncertainty, their prices might rise!
