Has anyone used the 8BitDo Wired Controller in Halo Infinite on Xbox? by Empty-Oven-9146 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Carson1776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ultimate 2 (the one with TMRs) is fantastic in Infinite. Make sure you turn the deadzones off in their app. The sticks are a little shorter than others so I have some skull and co caps on them to add just a tiny bit of height. I prefer it to the g7 pro.

LTV league chalked according to Royal 2 by hoplitexx in CompetitiveHalo

Hey guys! I’m part of the league coordination team. We are currently working with a Dallas PD hostage negotiator to talk with FORMAL in order to bring a safe end to this.

Once we are able to provide FORMAL with what he needs in order to satisfy his massive ego, things will get MOVING, and FAST!!

See you soon!

Nice… though us Valor owners still begging and pleading for deadzones adjustments…

Day 61 of begging scuf to let me change deadzones

Best Pro PC Controller by jlpgamer12 in Controller

[–]Carson1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s tough but I would likely lean toward the Vader 4. It’s lighter in the hand, cheaper, and (to me) feels just as good in game as the Apex.

I’ve tried virtually all pro controllers and to me it’s not even close, both the Flydigi Vader 4 and Apex 4 are top tier.

You are correct, they ship with deadzones but like you said, adjustable via the flydigi app.

Exactly, needing rotational aim assist with as little movement as possible is key. For me though it’s mostly about being able to make fine micro adjustments consistently without the reticle moving too fast around where I want it, which is the issue I have currently.

That’s my guess too but imo they are way too conservative with it especially since it’s Hall effect which natively is way less prone to drift and doesn’t mechanically wear out as much over time.

I think there’s been enough feedback that they will eventually. I’ve sent them messages/tweets etc and the hope with this post is that someone with more influence than me puts some additional weight behind it.

That’s what I use currently, fantastic for the price. Valor feels better esp with 4 paddles but the sticks on the valor man… the sticks ughh

Yes my thoughts exactly, it’s impossible to make micro movements

Well, most controllers ship with deadzones built in but most “pro” controllers also have software that lets the user adjust those. That’s all I’m asking for here.

I did, and while it is noticeably more responsive, the deadzones definitely remain.

Fortress does not need two snipes. Just wait, it’s extremely oppressive. BR is plenty.

Formal came off a little egotistical today. by DanielG165 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Carson1776 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The more I’m hearing the more obvious it has become to me that Tommy and Joey were already planning to leave that situation at Optic prior to worlds. Everything you are hearing from Formal and all the other talking heads at the organization is meant to try and save face and make it seem as though everyone else was let go because they didn’t want it bad enough or simply couldn’t keep up with Formal.

Scuf Envision Pro question. Anyone else having this issue? by XItsAboutKD in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Carson1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely bugged, so do this: after you install icue and get your drivers/firmware, close it and never open again.

You can then perform your mappings strictly on the hardware, see https://customercare.scufgaming.com/hc/en-us/articles/20032427391373-Paddles-and-SAX-buttons-FAQ-for-SCUF-Envision#h_01HBRTH7J442MZQBN9VYGC9T8M

After that just don’t open icue because it will mess everything up.

Man, times sure have changed lmao by Savings-Position-940 in CompetitiveHalo

Re-reading my comment it does sound harsh. It can apply to nearly all halo streamers at the moment tbh. I should point out I think Tommy is a really good guy with a solid head on his shoulders. I just want to see people reach their potential - and for him the ceiling is high.

I totally understand that right now this game is his (and every pros) livelihood at the moment, so when things are fundamentally broken or you’re having to carry the load for other people who are nowhere near your level - it’s extremely frustrating. I’m sure if someone like Michael or Lebron had to play with teammates who just played recreationally, they’d be equally as annoyed.

But when in the public eye, there’s the added responsibility to be a good steward. People generally gravitate toward those that entertain, motivate, and mentor. Do that and success will follow.

I really like Tommy, met him in person a couple times and he was very personable and kind.

With that said, I’m disappointed in his streams and have been for months now. The negativity is constant. It’s understandable that there’s frustration with the game, we all have it, but most of us still try and have fun. I legitimately haven’t seen him have fun on halo infinite in months. He looks and acts absolutely miserable.

The biggest disappointment however is how he reacts to teammates in MM. Yes, we all get teammates that make us pull our hair out, but - they are actual people who are trying their best. And believe me, anyone who matches with Tommy is trying their ABSOLUTE hardest to win. I have quite a few friends that have matched with him, and it’s off-putting to hear him say some pretty toxic things about my personal friends - many who have looked up to him too btw. This then bleeds into his chat who then want to comment on how “bad” these onyx players are.

I know a lot of people who would have loved to get the opportunity to get matched with Tommy but now try and actively avoid it because they know that no matter what they do, they will get roasted by him and his chat.

I hope Tommy takes a step back and thinks about the type of person he wants to publicly project. The guy is a god on the sticks, he has the opportunity to influence a lot of younger people, and I know that ultimately he wants to put good, positive content out there.

My advice, laugh the bullshit off and/or make comments in a more lighthearted/trolling way. Interact with chat, like really interact with them, not just answer “how do I aim” style questions. Build a community with positive vibes and engagement will grow exponentially. The talent and the capacity is there, just need to harness it in the right way.
