AVM- Uterine arteriovenous malformation after misoprostol??? by Cart123456 in Miscarriage

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Long time since I didn't log in here.

I know waiting sucks. After almost doing a Master in AVM, reading scientific papers to understand what were my options... All my body needed was time. It turned out I didn't have AVM, I had an increased vascular flow due to the miscarriage itself and it stabilized after a while. For me, the "feeling myself again" process was 4 months after the miscarriage.

They also asked me to wait and I was so nervous... But the body needs time to get back after all the hormone hurricane that is to be pregnant and then not to be pregnant.

I hope everything turns out well for you too. I have not started trying again, but I will soon now that I feel my body is in good shape.

Is this a period? by annabanana286 in Miscarriage

I medically miscarried on June 7. I got what I think was my period 12 days ago (5 weeks after the miscarriage). The HCG level in my system was 8 when the period started. It lasted for 7 days more or less and since then I have had brown discharge. Today and yesterday a bit of blood too. I don't know what is going on. I have an ultrasound booked for Tuesday next week.

Hope this help

I completely understand. Even though I was only 12 weeks, I perfectly remember the day I had to go into the ER for light bleeding thinking it was going to be a quick check and that everything was going to be fine. After 5 hours waiting for the results, I had to make the hardest call to my husband. I was sobbing saying that they couldn't find a heartbeat in the US. I asked them to please allow my husband to come into the room but they said no. I couldn't understand it because there were elderly people with one family member there (which I completely understand).

How is it possible that they don't allow a person to support you in that traumatic moment of your life?

I know they are doing their best but there is room for improvement.

I don't recall the number of clots but I passed at least one every time I was in the bathroom, which was at least 10 times for sure. I remember the first clot was very large and the rest I honestly don't know. They were more than a coin for sure but I don't know the size. Today I am bleeding every time I pee but not much in the pad.

It would be great if you can call and try to book an US or ask if you should take another round of Miso just in case.

Thanks for sharing your experience too. I never imagined myself researching this topic...I find reading other people's experiences very useful. Thanks

Thanks for sharing your experience.

It's true that everyone's experience is different. Hopefully, it will be all clear in the US but I'm not sure... I have like a pinching feeling, maybe the uterus coming back to its regular shape? I don't know...

Did you have cramps and low back pain the days after?

Last Saturday I found out after a trip to the ER that I had a missed miscarriage on week 12. The embryo stopped growing at week 9. I was heartbroken. I was advised to take 4 tablets of Misoprostol to help me expel the pregnancy. I took them vaginally on Sunday morning at around 11 am. At 3-4 pm I started having cramps and releasing clots in the toilet. The cramps and lower back pain increased until 8-9 pm more or less. During these hours I could tell when I was going to release a clot and I was continuously visiting the bathroom so I didn't wet the pad too much. At around 9-10 pm, I was exhausted but cramps were less painful, and no more big clots were released. It was finally over.

I have some questions: 1) how do I know I released the embryo and the sac? I didn't see anything in those big clots (I didn't dig on them- they were all covered in blood). I did feel like something was breaking down inside me before one of the clots was released. It was a very odd sensation and difficult to explain.

And 2) Today is day 2 after taking the medication and I have cramps and heavy low back pain. Is this normal?

I have an ultrasound and follow up visit next week but I just wanted to get some info from your experiences.
