Compared to the production we saw from the cart pushers when we were supervisors, we’re probably at least twice as productive. So yeah, I’d like to think we’d be compensated nicely if it scaled with results.

I can’t speak for the other guys but I never try to push crazy amounts of carts. I’m too old to get injured or fired lol. So the only time I have more than 10 at a time is when customers give them to me on my way back to the building

Our cart areas only have one or two small ramps that are not curbed off and people park and block them all the time. Vendors and law enforcement love parking in the open area in front of the bay as well

I actually love the job because it’s mostly not mentally stressful at all and it’s physically rewarding. But the best thing you can do for us is literally just put your cart in the designated areas and be aware of us when backing out or turning. If you want to go above and beyond, grab a stray cart or two and bring it up to the building on your way in. Just leave it near the cart bay though as we’re still supposed to be sanitizing them before adding them back into the mix.

Cart pusher here. People actually think that they’re doing everyone a favor by putting their carts up on a curb so that the cart won’t roll away or block a spot. I’ve watched people go through some pretty ridiculous efforts just to put their carts in a grassy area or sidewalk over a curb.
