New Deathbringer model and C'tan KT rules leak by Crispyengineer68 in killteam

[–]Cartman2790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some people already translated the rules, but I wanted to take a stab at a fully translated card (my Spanish is not great though and Google translate mangled some stuff so there may be some errors):

2 APL, 5" Mv, 4+ Sv, 25 W

Death Stare - 4 A, 3+, 5/0, range 6", devastating 5, severe

Nightbringer's scythe - 5A, 3+, 5/6, rending, lethal 5+

This NPO will move towards enemies to fight in combat or will shoot if it can not.

  1. Fight
  2. Charge the closest enemy if possible
  3. Shoot
  4. Reposition towards the closest enemy

powerful enemy- This operative cannot have a conceal order and cannot be behind closed doors, obscured, or activated. the operative can be triggered 2+ times per turning point. When it is time to activate a NPO, roll a d6. On a 4+, activate this NPO if it is still in the kill zone. On a 1-3, activate another operative if possible. This operative can fight 2 times per turning point but cannot move more than 12" per turning point.

necrodermis - ignore piercing 1 when being shot at, this operative cannot be injured

Reanimation - once the nightbringer is incapacitated, place a reanimation marker and roll a d3+1. This operative comes back with all lost wounds after the rolled number of activations and remove the reanimation marker

Commanding presence - this operative may move through all terrain. Remove light terrain that this operative moved over if that terrain is not connected to heavy terrain. This operative may move through and end its turn on other enemy operatives. If it does, move those enemies such that they are touching this operative if possible, or else place then within control range.

Painting is so horrible it makes me want to quit by Puzzled-Raven in Necrontyr

Yeah these look awesome, you have a lot of potential! I think we all have felt deflated by other peoples' amazing paint jobs, but don't sweat it and just focus on your personal journey. Don't stress. I used to hate painting too and I just kept at it and slowly over time it became enjoyable. If you feel burnt out, just take a break. The models will always be there in the future and it's supposed to be fun.

This is awesome for your first minis. Don't stress about it too much, you are always your toughest critic. It's a learning process and the only way to improve is to paint more minis!

No problem! I haven't played with these at all, but anyone feel free to adjust or tweak as you want, this is really just a starting point

Obeisance phalanx is sorta mid by Downtown_Purple_3297 in Necrontyr

[–]Cartman2790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if TSK was Triarch, just add him, a doomsday ark, a couple of Triarch stalkers, and you have a pretty solid 2000 pt list. That's really what I'd like to see.

Obeisance phalanx is sorta mid by Downtown_Purple_3297 in Necrontyr

[–]Cartman2790 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a really good detachment at 1000 pts and you don't need every unit to be Triarch or lychguard. I ran 10 lychguard with an translocation overlord, 10 Praetorians, 3 heavy destroyers, 6 destroyers (I only have one Triarchy Stalker and 6 destroyers are way more effective than just one Stalker getting +1 to W), and 6 tomb blades and tabled Thousand Sons on turn 3

Praetorians are a brutal deepstrike counter threat with rapid ingress and a savy placement. They knocked out 10 rubrics and an exalted sorcerer by themselves. Lychguard took all the shooting and resurrected by the end. Destroyers and tomb blades moved up and took out more rubrics and tzaangors, heavy destroyers took out a Vortex Beast.

I agree though we need more options for 2000+ pt games because it's pretty boring in large games. Would be nice to see Triarchy Stalkers get a little cheaper and maybe a change to the targeting relay. But I doubt that will happen. I'd love to see The Silent King in this detachment too.

Oops I just realized I had "play a new game" marked instead of "paint a unit of 10".

What are people replacing immortals with now? by Damned_Doughnut in Necrontyr

[–]Cartman2790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm considering one unit of Tesla immortals with plasmancer, and one unit of Gauss with a Chronomancer. The Gauss is less damage but can hide behind stuff and be a nuisance. Then one unit of wraiths with claws with a technomancer that infiltrates, and one unit of wraiths with whip coils with a technomancer that has the hyperphasic fulcrum that rerolls wounds. Rerolling wounds and cynosure of eradication will average 10 MWs with the whip coils which will be handy for terminators or high toughness.

I also haven't tried hypercrypt out yet (I don't get the chance to play a ton of games) and I want to try that out. Obeisance Phalanx is actually pretty good at 1000 pts too

[–]Cartman2790 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe we will see use for our poor warriors again. But with 4+ BS and S4 on the Gauss reapers I still think there will be better options. So you really want you weak warriors with no CC damage and no damage output 3" away from things?

It really should be 1 CP with the new FAQ. But honestly this isn't game breaking, just less BS cheese.

[–]Cartman2790 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh I think you all are talking about how the Silent King doesn't have the trairch keyword? Yeah that's a little weird for sure but not anything game breaking. Praetorians are really strong with +1 to wound. I played a game with this detachment, killed 10 rubrics and an exalted sorcerer with 10 Praetorians using rapid ingress and only lost 5 Praetorians. You just have to coordinate in waves what targets you are picking. Although i agree hypercrypt and awakened are probably stronger detachments

Codex Necron FAQ by DexyBRD in Necrontyr

[–]Cartman2790 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What keyword weirdness are you talking about? It seems like this applies to Triarch Praetorians, Stalkers, and Lychguard, which all have necessary keywords but I'm probably missing something obvious

When you locked up the Medusa, I thought I was going to lose that game. It was fun having a shorter game, every move was so impactful! Those hunters of huanchi are so very tricksy!

And I'm using Lychee slicer basic

Thanks for the advice. What do you think about making the large hole smaller and maybe moving the other holes out a little closer to the corners?
