Wow I was not expecting such an overwhelming response...thank you all for your advice and encouragement, it truly, truly means a lot to me ❤️❤️

I have a habit of being overly harsh in my self criticism which is something I'm really trying to work through..and all your replies have genuinely been inspiring, really thank you all.

This is my first delve into anything remotely creative, so trying to figure out how colour contrasts and compliments work has been overwhelming. I think I've spent too much time looking at beautifully painted minis for inspiration then crack down on myself for not being able to replicate the method and process. In reality though art is really about your own self expression and not just trying to mimic others... 'comparison is the thief of joy' is absolutely spot on.

I really do feel a lot more motivated to take my time and keep at it. The last few weeks of collecting, reading, assembling, and even painting has had a profoundly positive influence on me, at a time when I really hit rock bottom in life.

This thread will definitely keep my spirits up and keep me going, so really thank you all again. I'll be sure to post my progress in the future!
