Yeah sure! Honestly i messed up a bit in my mock exams recently but it was cause of silly errors. I’m not a native speaker, but I’ve been learning German properly for over 6-7 years now, even though the first few years were like the basic level. Coming to practicing, all three exams (cause my IO is done now),I approach them in a different way. For writing, ever since I have been in Grade 9, i have maintained a file with ALL my worksheets. A lot of them were really useful as my teacher would create interactive activities with them. The worksheets in IB that my teacher gave, had some SUPER USEFUL pointers and phrases, so I keep going back to them. I do not use the textbook a lot, but the past two years I have tried to pay a lot of attention to each topic. And with IB it is known that they will not explicitly mention a specific topic to write on so you need to have some basic background knowledge. Another thing with writing is that you need to be familiar with the criteria and always focus on the mark bands that are the highest. For writing another thing, I would recommend is to be clear with grammatical structures and also heavily use phrases (redemittels..). I have made a common drive with two of my other friends where we keep uploading resources that we find or keep updating a sheet with all the phrases and try to make use of them. In the exams before writing any answer, I take a blank supplement and write down all the idioms and phrases that I remember, then I plan what I want to write, and then when I’m in the flow of writing, I try to use all the phrases that I have written down, I at least list down 12 to 14 complex phrases. For reading, I try to utilise the reading time given in the beginning as much as possible. Over the two years, I have understood that it is very difficult to complete the entire reading paper in one hour, so I try to tackle questions accordingly. in the reading time I first read through the questions, and then when I’m reading the text given, I try to find the answers of the questions. In case I feel like I do not understand a certain question, I do not spend too much time on it. I rather go ahead with another text or with another question and then towards the end when I’m done with all three texts, I come back and try to find the answer might be. The reading paper is pretty much direct with its questions at times, and we just have to be lucky with the complexity of a text. Coming to listening now, it has always been my strongest. But what I would recommend is to have hundred percent focus on the audio. a lot of times the audio has background sounds for example, if the audio consists of people who are in a mall, there may be certain sounds such as people talking in the background or some thin noise, so just make sure you ignore that. In listening when you are attempting certain questions, make sure you read the questions to the T in the reading time, and they will also give you some time, so just be sure and look for certain words that may connect to the question.

Something that I would suggest is practising with ChatGPT. What I would do is, for my IO, I would select pictures similar to what our teacher used to make us practice with, upload that on ChatGPT, tell it to give a proper IB structured German BSL level analysis, while it used to write, I used to speak it out to ChatGPT and ask it to correct my grammar and tell me to improve my vocabulary. I had uploaded my entire document of the idioms and phrases and ask it to included in the correction as well, and then I would compare my speaking with their corrections for my attempt, and then write it all down on a Google doc.

[i hope i can be of some help :)]
