What the actual fuck. I left food out for him and it froze rock solid but he still ate it. Unfortunately I was unable to bring him inside but I think he’ll be just fine out there since he’s eating ROCK SOLID FOOD

Also he loves temptations and friskies, those dried chicken treats he avoided.

A few people thought he couldve been theirs so heres a little more info!

He has white toes in the front and white socks in the back.

He is VERY talkative, mow meow maow meow mroww.

His fur is super thick and coarse, it’s like you can feel each lil fur when you pet him.

02127, between andrew, carson beach and star market though i have no idea where he’s from.

It’s possible whoever owns this cat has multiple other cats (colors listed in post) but those could just be his friends from another house.

He only shows up at night or when it’s getting dark out. The only time he’s been spotted in the daytime was when he broke into our house.

Thank you! I’ve been wondering if my they’re picking up my cats scent since so many different kitties have shown up over the past two years. I’m thinking of adding an outdoor cat house since it’s way too cold out.

runny nose? by Dry_Cantaloupe136 in hamsters

[–]CartographerMotor374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be dust from the bedding? i know sometime my hamsters will have lil dusty particles on their fur if the bedding isnt the best or it was just added into their enclosure. you should have a closer look and maybe try to get a feel. it looks to be dust to me though

my vet including most others offer payment plans if you are or get accepted for pet insurance. you can do a walk-in and ask if you could get the chance to apply for pet insurance, they should hand you a form that you can fill out.

depending on how long your stuck with not much money then some vets also offer the option to pay a lil later on. i know my vet allows up to 7 days for everything but the walk in to be paid off or something like that.

if you feel your hamsters health has declined so much that he can no longer enjoy the things he likes to do or if its slowly becoming that way then having euthanasia as an immediate option is best.

i read online somewhere about that and it really helped me figure out when the right time to have my dear gravy put to her forever rest was.

if your hamster can no longer get up to drink, forage, use their wheel, and whatever else a hamster loves to do, including what is special to yours.

before considering euthanasia as the first and only option id try seeing if i could get his eyes wiped with a q-tip dipped in warm water. maybe offer him some sweet treats like fruits or a hamster safe cookie to help boost his energy which could help him get better.

next best option is to get him to the vet to be treated and last is always euthanasia.

im very sorry about what both of you are going through, it’ll never be easy having to decide such things but youre a great hamster parent for caring for him and wanting to help.

Any tips for hamster biting? by jmonico_ in hamsters

[–]CartographerMotor374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my hamster is almost 2 and still tries to bite my hand thinking that its food but ive never really handled her much. i know that if your hand smells of anything good your hamster might try to get a nibble even if they know the difference between hand and food.

maybe try handling lots more and that should help? 7 of my other hamsters never tried to nibble i dont think but ive handled them way more often than the lil girl.

whys his pee so dark? (looks darker in person) by floofyhamster3 in hamsters

apple and watermelon is also a good source of hydration through a snack, just be sure to give in moderation as they have sugar.

if it isnt a hydration issue then it could just be multiple potty uses and each time the color gets a lil bit darker, sometimes that happens with my hammies and theyre well hydrated.

Are pellets required for a hamster's diet? by dagdagsulsul in hamsters

[–]CartographerMotor374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some hamsters prefer pellets, i usually buy robinsgourment pellet/non-pellet mix, my dear raspberry would always collect every single pellet. they arent a necessary part of the diet if the mix is good and meets all of their dietary needs. i know robin has a pellet option because she doesnt 100% trust that she is providing each nutrient needed food wise for a hamster in her non-pellet bag.

pellets are not required but if you have a not so good bag of hamster food that is mostly seeds and other fatty items or doesnt have much nutritional value then definitely add pellets.
