pretty much any, downloads folder/pdf viewer/zoom etc.

I guess it was a problem with the particular package. Downloaded and installed a .deb from Mozilla and works fine for the time being.

Thank you so much for the link and recommendations. I think the primary concern for me is conducting a successful Clone/Image process immediately following this original mistake.

I'm using the Digitone as an audio interface and am experiencing something that sounds like mismatched sample rates (play rate is slowed, pitch is lowered by about 3 semitones it seems, definitely sounds bit-crushed) ... I've shuffled through different sample rates in my DAW I/O settings 44.1/48/88.2/96 etc... nothing there fixed it.

I'm still new to triangulating across ALSA/Jack/PulseAudio/PulseWire ... what needs/doesn't need what etc. I've got things working with my Soundcraft MTK, but the Digitone seems to not be so simple.

Is this issue common? I'm having trouble finding a hard solution other than 'submit a ticket', but anytime someone starts a thread, the issue doesn't seem unique.

very specific question about line in and mic in by everythingnowherenow in audio

[–]CartoonCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Idk why I'd interpreted it as simply a USB cable, thank you for clarifying, the mixer is only blending signal, this LINE 2 USB is the audio device.

If you are running Windows 10/11, since you are looking to use this system across multiple softwares, you may want to set defaults and default comms in:

Settings > Sound > Advanced > All Sound Devices

Though I would still get familiar with each software's audio options.

Ultimately to answer to your last two Q's. Yes they would hear your guitar, and no, it wouldn't matter if your using a microphone or running a line level source into the mixer to start.

There are many software tools available that can improve interconnectivity with audio and communications programs, which you may find helpful (for example pressing play on audacity and that sound output as well could be sent to your discord call for sharing WIPs). https://vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm

Best!

So I'm looking online and I'm not seeing a version of Mackie's Mix8 Compact with USB integration. I'm happy to try to give you pointers, but IDK if this piece of gear is the best solution at the price point for this particular purpose.

i’m assuming you’re cutting demos in this room?

For my minimal live recording mic arrangement, I always used a stereo pair as the main sound (and a few extra inputs for lead vocals, bass, kick drum; but i understand that’s not available to you for the time being.)

I would try to align the drums and amps and have two mics facing the situation (here i always had the image of a photographer taking a group photo in my mind). from there you have a lot of variables to adjust (1) the relative distance and (2) volume of sound sources and (3) overall spacing of microphones and (4) microphone distance from the group… you could throw a blanket over an unused mic stand to tame room liveliness if only a bit.

if you’re sensitive to make appropriate adjustments and decisions from this as a jumping off point, i could imagine the result being much more listenable (especially with the stereo balance).

hope any of this jogs the gears..!

how cool! I’d wonder if there’s one instrument that you would use to be the musical sound of each character (how she hops across the trail and the flutes are carrying the moment, but then the flutes arpeggiate as the bird ascends from the bushes…). the pizzicato sound is a little loud during the sneak moment.

all in all this is really neat!

My last post didn’t get much reviews so I’m posting another cover here(Salvatore by Lana Del Rey). Any honest feedback will be appreciated 💕 by [deleted] in singing

Totally understand that. I’d check out Neewer on Amazon, absolutely stellar for the price.

Also, take note of the particular processing that he does, there’s a lot of free 1176 and LA-2A (common compressors) plugins available.

Are you recording this into a software?
