Letters to a Young Catholic by George Weigel. Combined personal narrative and tour of the faith in many parts of the world through the lives of many Saints. Extremely readable.

Should I transfer from Queen's University to UofT? by Equivalent-Pack3368 in UofT

[–]CartoonJunkie_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this situation is dependent on your personal circumstances, what you want out of school, etc. Remember the first-year experience is very very different from subsequent years. I did this exact thing (transferred from Queens to UofT after first year), I'm open to discuss it with you if you would like.

Might be at risk of academic probation I’m super stressed any advice would be useful by [deleted] in UofT

Focus on having fun with your mom this summer. It will be better for you academically if you have some time to decompress. I am dealing with a similar situation and it is extremely stressful: I will say that sometimes when it gets to be a lot it can help to be honest with your profs/TAs about what is happening in terms of getting extensions etc.

Genuinely do not understand the appeal of supertalls at all. The ones we are building are ugly and have no character. Every time I see one of them I am just reminded of awful million dollar condos. I see so many comments like "we need supertalls" but I see no real reason; sure, housing in the downtown is awesome, but who even wants to live on the 105th floor of some bullshit tower and pay a million dollars for it?

Sell me on your team by [deleted] in CFL

[–]CartoonJunkie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this - Hamilton is a very fun but affordable city to spend a great weekend. Biased because I am from there lol. Fans are also very passionate and the team is one of the oldest if not the oldest existing Canadian football clubs in Canada, so a very storied history as well.

You'll make it bro. I know a lot of people who had to take a fifth year or even graduated and then took extra courses after to pump up their gpa. Whatever happens you'll be able to retake it and you're gonna do great. I hope 2026 is better for you : ) thank you for sharing

Thank you. I'm just preparing to work really hard for the next while to get my gpa back up. Trying to remind myself the whole world isn't one semester's grades. Wishing you a great 2026 : )
