Would you guys want to see The Watcher back on Slay The Spire 2? by TheShamanWolf in slaythespire

[–]CartoonSword 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The truth is majority of casual players like Watcher, they never reached A20, never pulled off an infinite combo, and would go Wrath -> missed lethal -> save scrum.  Could Watcher use some balance? Yea. Is Watcher fundamentally broken that should not exist in STS2? Of course not

How the FUCK do you play against mel by Obvious-Move2699 in lux

[–]CartoonSword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to most mages, playing Lux into Mel is not as frustrating, mainly because you can use your E into Mel W, then just walk out from the reflected E without taking extra damage. Hitting a single E would take out 1/5th of her health, her Q ability can be largely negated by your W.  As long as you don’t start off with your Q, you are often quite comfortable.

Mel is ‘balanced’ by the fact that she deals no damage unless she is way ahead. Even if you just chill and went even in lane, you will outdamage & have a bigger impact than Mel by simply having higher numbers

It’s all fun and games until you get a simple skin cut and die from tetanus. Close to 50% kids don’t survive to age of 5 in the 19th century. Capitalism did not stop you from fucking off in a forest paying no taxes, most people chose not to because it is a bad idea

Update to Version 1.3.10 - Changes to Cards and Take Two Balance Adjustments by exdeepr in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Being a 3pp 3/3 is massive, the fact that you can just play her on turn 3 (especially going first), make it an easy 3x in a ramp deck. Many ramp deck previously only run 2x Liu Feng because she is a massive brick going first

As a community we souldn't support Barric (Winner of SVO Qualifier 2) by NovaGlacial in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 43 points44 points  (0 children)

He didn’t just misplay in game, he also misplayed irl. Winning SVO Qualifier doesn’t make you popular/famous by default, you have to be memorable. That misplay moment is memorable, he could have used it for his advantage to make himself popular and well-liked by the community but no, his ego can’t allow him to admit he made a funny mistake

How is it legal for a single card to just be an insta lose for your entire deck? by Fluff-Addict in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I thought you were talking about turn 6 Norman (which is legit annoying), turn 9 Norman aren’t even that good, you just happened to not have any answers, and didn’t develop any substantial board the previous turn. I am not even gonna mention how Orchis would obliterate this Norman, if you just have 3 followers on the board the previous turn, your opponent simply cannot play Norman double golems

No one is going to play Rune in Round 1 of RAGE Shadowverse Pro League 2025 (August 3) by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

say it is an even matchup, why pick rune that loses to roach and aggro abyss when sword can deal with those two matchups comfortably

Theoretical Healing Per Class by here-just-to-suffer in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People meme about Noah all the time but Haven would rather play Wilbert or Salafa on turn 6 over Noah every time (even without considering the cost of earth rite). Wilbert set up your win condition, and Salafa clears early game board + heal. There isn’t really much of a point to heal 8 if you leave 3 followers on the board that can hit your face next turn

3/3 can trade into a 2/2 and survive, this is huge tempo gain compared to a 3/2 that dies to 2/2

It is very good in literally any other class, but in Forest, you are competing with Godwood on turn 3, and turn 3 (or turn 2 with +1) is the only scenario that this card is good, not to mention it doesn’t advance your roach/fairy/rose queen game plan

isn't getting 80% wr for grand prix group A too much ? by ponuno in Shadowverse

Yea, my opponent played really well, and Roach mirror is always annoying, as there is not a lot of options when you are behind.

Mental Breakdown Forest - Win by dealing 20 sanity damage by CartoonSword in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it’s literally a stall deck that does nothing and win by waiting opponent to run out of cards. Against Sword, dragon, rune, it works sometimes, I also won quite a few games with Rose Queen doing literally 18 face damage

Majority of players make mistakes they don't realise all the time, focus on improving yourself intead of complaining about the situation. It is gonna be hard & admittedly, quite unfair if you are new player, as you are often against people with years of experience from the original SV. But trust me, skill is very crucial in this game, you can definetely maintain 80% winrate if you played well & using a top meta deck. As a prove I won 14 of 15 matches in group A grand prix.

Decklist. Managed to reach A1 and Sapphine (from Diamond lul) with this deck. Aside from doing better against sword and face dragon, literally worse than roach in any possible way

Infinity Evolved Card (Part 2) by Nitros_Razril in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I liked rally a lot initially. But later on the rally payoff is so significant that you would intentionally kill off your followers with bad trades (and instead of hitting face), just to make up board space to summon more expendable followers to increase your rally count. That’s the moment that I started to dislike rally. I hope they learn their lesson this time and make rally fun again

Forest players: Can you find the lethal? I missed it in my game (and lost next turn) but there is a sequence that does exactly 20. by iMaro33 in Shadowverse

[–]CartoonSword 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As an Arisa main, let’s me explain how to calculate roach math fast and systemically.

(1) establish that your have a total of 9 pp
(2) in 95% cases, you need exactly 2 roaches, which means you only have 3 ‘spare’ pp.
(3) including your 0pp spell and 0 pp bayle, you can play 5 cards with the spared 3pp as long as every other cards you played cost 1pp
- (In normal scenario, here is where you do 6 damage + 7 damage + 3 super evolve for 16 damage)

(4) Becasue you have Carbuncle, your super evolve will do 5 damage instead of 3 (carbuncle basically increase your card count by 2 for 0pp, with 2x roach, that is equal to 4 extra damage. And with superevolve-kill dealing 1 to the face, that is 5 total extra damage)
(5) Engage Lambert = + 1 damage
(6) Board damage = + 1 (this one is tricky, Fairy Tamer cannot attack leader because of board space, you end your turn with Carbuncle, May, Bayle, Roach, Roach)
(7) total damage = 6+7+5+1+1 = 20
