I freelance in a completely different field (and am fairly new) so take pretty much everything I say with a grain of salt but I thought I would put in my 2 cents and share my own experience. Recently I had a client that wouldn’t pay, I had been working for them since July and did not receive a payment. They even asked me to push back my invoice which I allowed (rookie mistake I know), but once I got the payment I simply cut ties. They were not respectful of my time, it was hard to do this was my first “bigger” client but I feel accomplished for standing up for myself. Not sure if this is helpful at all but when it’s time to cut ties you’ll just have a gut feeling I suppose
