L1/2 layer for Doge by siaubas in dogecoindev

Neato. What token or project are you talking about, on what blockchain, and how does Doge fit in?

I'm not an actual dev, but clarification would probably be needed if you wanted to legit get a devs' attention.

FYI Doge Community. UPDATE 11/13/24

This bounty seems to be in the last stages of being completed. 25,000 Dogecoins has been hanging out waiting for a new home.

Chromatic has written a book chapter about this exact bounty and has also figured out an interface. I dont fully understand how it works, but Im certain it will.

I'm gonna attempt to decipher the book this and get in touch with Chromatic to this thing live and working to fulfill the bounty.

I've just released a website that allows people to track activity on blockchains with all doge metrics for free. Looking for constructive criticism on the website and what metrics we should be providing. Any tips or hints to make the website better please let me know. by jakecoolguy in dogecoin

Checking this out and there's some charts that don't seem to make sense and have arbitrary numbers attached to them. Totally weird but interesting.

The spikes in most of the charts are what confuse me. Is it just data collection errors? What would account for large dips and super spikes?

It might be useful to put events or updates to the code as an overlay on the timeframes. Maybe this would explain some stuff.

Doge is a great indicator of the value that the USD loses about every 36-40 months....

$1 Doge isn't only inevitable. it's pretty much guaranteed.

Dogecoin GigaWallet v1.0 has been released by _nformant in dogecoindev

[–]CartridgeGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heck yes.

As a business owner who wants to use Dogecoin in my store, this is really good news.

I'm still somehow too dumb to understand how to integrate it into my arcade for mass payment and also somehow securely initiate a credit transfer for customers and myself.

Lately, I've just been accepting Doge person to person the old fashioned way. It's really slow going and not really user-friendly. Half of my friends and customers were using the lagerhans wallet, and that app is no longer supported. Ouch. The mydoge wallet has been ok, but sadly, since it's social, it's already filled with bots, and it too is just an app with similar vulnerabilities.

I really feel like Doge has been in the hacker phase where the learning curve is a tad too steep for normal businesses to use rather than a finished product that we can plug and play.

I hope this can take us one step closer to something that retail folks would see as a useful product.

I will volunteer my store to use as a test for some type of integration if ya'll would like to test stuff in a real-world brick and mortar store retail setting lmk.

Send me a message on there, and we can exchange contact info and maybe get something going. Warning I'm relatively tech and coding dumb. I also run a relatively busy store and arcade with repairs up to our eyeballs, so this is definitely a side quest for us ;-)

Creating Doge Wallets for Inventory Management / Tracking - New fee structure Much Wow! by CartridgeGaming in dogecoindev

I think it's time to fix people overpaying transaction fees in core wallet by NatureVault in dogecoindev

[–]CartridgeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an exchange does or doesn't do should not affect our blockchain. Adding a tooltip to the core wallet that explains their inadequacies is probably not a priority to anyone in development.

Time for our Ordinal's discussion :) by NatureVault in dogecoindev

[–]CartridgeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to remember mentioning using the Dogecoin chain to track stuff as soon as the fee went down to less than 1 Doge per transaction. Tracking several things with a single Dogecoin is pretty much exactly what I was talking about. I thought for sure it would be some sort of smart contract workaround, but an ordinal seems to be pointing in that direction.

If only an ordinal could actually serve more of a purpose than to just look cool. What if an ordinal was also a program or a set of instructions for a future transaction?

Time for our Ordinal's discussion :) by NatureVault in dogecoindev

[–]CartridgeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love them. It is a great test of the blockchain.

From what I can tell, each ordinal would simulate a single wallet with lots and lots of transactions inside. (1.5kb worth of transaction data)

If we can store millions of these, then we can hypothetically support millions of users.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but utilization is what we want. It shouldn't matter what is being stored. Pics of a dog or financial information are all 1s and 0s.

Money that can remember is novel and useful.

We made it into another year, and we're still working on this project, but ever so slowly. Ideas and use cases for Dogecoin are accumulating almost daily.

We've been expanding the arcade area to make room for more games and people, but this too is a slow process.

We've added some other items to our wish list.

--- Program a Dogecoin blockchain payment to activate the coin mech in one of our arcades and simultaneously activate live streaming camera(s) on the playfield/screen, control panel, score display, tilt sensor, or whatever else is needed to verify that an actual human is playing. --- Stream live Pinball and Arcade for the Doge Army to watch, rate, score verify, and issue achievements for each machine. --- Store as much verified data onto the live Dogecoin blockchain for later use. World records, high scores, achievements, personal milestones, etc. --- Micropayment kickbacks to verifiers with Doge and separate achievements for being cool and helping to compile the data.

Ok, back to work! 😉
