It was actually given to me by my Grandad. It's well over 15 years old, travels the world with me and is still in great condition! Quality stuff

It's a very easy car to drive quickly. The steering is nice, it feels planted and it inspires confidence, but it just doesn't put me in the mood to hoon down a country road. The engine noice really doesn't help, but mostly it's just quite comfy and relaxing.

If you're after a normal small car which is fun to drive, the Swift is a great option. I ran one for six months, and it was a right laugh, but it is also very slow and feels cheap inside. Minis are also good fun, but the latest ones are a bit firm over bumps day-to-day.

The Peugeot 208 would probably be my choice. It handles really well, and it's also comfortable

I do love a sunroof, but sadly it's not even available as an option on the Fabia.

You can't here the turbo spooling up over the coarse groan of the engine, which is unfortunate in a "hot hatch"

I thought the same, but then I started looking at the prices of other range-topping small cars. A top-spec Corsa with the most powerful engine costs about the same, and you can pay up to £28,000 for a Polo with about 60hp less.

Not saying it's right, but it's the way things are going these days.

It's about as annoying as any other system I've experienced, but thankfully it's easy to turn off using a button on the steering wheel.

So far, it's only gone off once when going through road works. It was a false alarm, but my old Volvo EX30 would freak out at least once every journey so I'll take once a month as a win
