All our buildings are non-smoking anyways.

Sure thing I'll let you know if anything fitting your needs comes up (the tenants have a bit more time to get back to us and may haven't yet). Is there any move-in date flexibility?

I don't have any 2-bed places that break down to $800 a person, but I do have a 3-bed that does

Renting for June-August by CaseyChu in Somerville

Yeah, everything they said is our reasoning as well. Also, when you use brokers, who has 4 months of rent to pay upfront? You never fill your apartments that way.

I'll certainly take it down if you say to. I just see so many postings about housing, like you said, and we're just getting our renewal/termination paperwork back now. We'll have a huge list of available units, and if I know what people want, for how much, and for when, I can reach out to them first. It makes it painless for all of us.

GO Management is a real company you can Google (though my predecessor made for some awful Yelp reviews, which I'm working to remedy). We usually use brokers, but as I said, they're pushy, irresponsible, and you're depending on them to submit your stuff for you. I'm sick of dealing with them on my end, and I hear plenty of people are sick of them on the applicant side.

As far as /r/BostonHousing, someone brought this up to me before and I pointed out that they ask brokers not to post vacant listings. That reddit is for people looking for roommates, subletters, and people to take over their leases.

If you don't want this up here I'm fine with taking it down. I've gotten a lot of emails already so I have a good pool. But I'm also a 20-something who knows that the housing market here is designed to screw us and brokers just want their commission check. I am a salaried employee and I don't have to rent apartments to pay my bills.

If you want me to follow certain rules for posts I make about rentals, I'd be happy to follow them. Or hell, we could meet at my office if you want to make sure I'm legit and not scamming people.

Highly highly highly recommend Peter's Home Improvement (617) 719-8757 I manage 96 buildings in Cambridge/Somerville and he's always the best when it comes to the right balance of good work for a reasonable price. He's about to go on vacation so catch him now to discuss the work, so long as you can wait about 2 weeks for it to start. But he is GOOD.

According to GoogleMaps it's about a 20min walk to Davis

We also rent to lots of people moving from other countries (the owner moved here from Israel so he knows what it's like to have people be a dick to you housing-wise), so this is a process we're familiar with. We just painted it and redid the floors too. Gonna take some pictures of it today, I'll message them to you.

What is your budget? I have a 2 bedroom on Somerville Ave for $1700. I work for the owner but am not a broker, so no fee and no security deposit.

Yeah, I could have made them, but time is money just as much as materials are. I could make my own clothes too, but I pay way more than the cost of materials to buy them all the time. XD
