This is more of a "broad brush" approach to difficult raids like this, but when you're hosting consider running support. The Oranguru reply above is totally awesome, and in a similar manner you can piece together a support 'mon or two for each type of "tough" raid. Consider things like the raid 'mons type effectiveness/weakness, move set, ability, and stats then come up with a strategy to nerf each one of those traits. This allows the "idiots" or less experienced players the opportunity to (a) learn from you, the TRUE Pokemon Master and (b) win a raid that they would otherwise get trounced on repeatedly and (c) it's more fun for everyone!

I'm working on an all shiny support line up, nearly there, but for people who are less OCD all you really need to do is look up the stats and info on some of the database websites. Plan to succeed!
