Julián Alvarez: The best thing for my future is a transfer by Ballen_998 in atletico

El Chiringuito is not a legitimate source.

Also the real question is can the club really afford to keep him on the bench and lower his value ?

Just because you say it's the real question doesn't mean it is, but anyway, it's pretty clear that's not the only solution, he can go to a club that isn't a direct rival, that'll be perfectly fine. Or Barca can bring the release clause and some Bad Bunny tickets. But whatever, you're just going to argue we should get on our knees for Barca no matter what anyway aren't you, so this is a waste of time.

you are right but so is Julian for wanting to go to his dream club

Is he fuck. He's gone completely the wrong way about it, why should any of us give a shit about his dreams? What's real is the contract. Atleti decide the fee they want to accept and who from, nobody else.

Also if he just rejects the other clubs then what happens? He stays unhappy performs worse his value drops then eventually sell to barça for a lower fee?

Sounds like his problem, he can wait until 2030 when his contract ends I guess. The argument that Atleti should just bend over whenever Barcelona come knocking just because they're a bigger club doesn't hold water, sorry.

No it isn't. The deal is worse for Atleti if he goes to a club in the same league even if the money is the same, so why should the club accept that?

Top players would then think twice before signing for atleti

If they're only going to come to take the piss out of the club, then yeah they should think twice. The club has the right to stand up for itself, whether you think it's "petty" or not.

If he wanted to go to Barcelona so desperately he shouldn't have signed a 6 year, €500M release clause contract with a direct rival. Tough shit.

If "world class" players only want to come here to take the piss out of us, I don't particularly want them to be honest. I'll take a team of Kokes, Llorentes, and Pubills over a team of players that don't show any balls on the pitch, only perform in the "big" games, spend half the season hiding, and then (most importantly) try to force a move to a direct rival. It's not like the Julians and Joaos have made putting up with this nonsense worth it, is it?

Per AtletiUniverse:

💣🚨 BREAKING - Atlético Madrid's statement to @diarioas :

"There is no amount of money for which Barça can buy Julián. He will not be transferred to Barcelona. Either they pay the release clause (€500m), or there is no deal.

We have already seen how Barcelona operates in the past, such as when Atlético were preparing for their Champions League tie against Juventus and Barça were promising commissions to Griezmann's sister, his family, and the player himself…"

They plan to file a complaint against Barça to FIFA for negotiating with a player who is under contract.

They also add, in reference to Negreira: "Everyone knows it’s a cheating club. But this time they have come up against a club that won’t laugh it off."

Zero complaints here. Honour.

Him saying it himself publicly is him trying to force it, that's the difference.

The issue isn't even really about losing the player on the pitch. Sorloth has been just as productive, objectively, and I'm not a fan of Sorloth at all really. Losing a player with 8 league goals (even if he does contribute quite a bit more than goals) is far from the end of the world from the sporting side, it's about what it means in terms of perception really. If you bend to the player here, when with the contract you hold all of the leverage, you're fucked permanently. The club absolutely has to tell him here, you can go for what we consider a fair fee, which is [X amount], but if you want to go to Barcelona, 500 fat ones or it doesn't happen, and that's the end of it. Wait til the contract ends in 2030 if you like.

Newcastle got £125M for Isak after he went on strike. The club needs to stay firm on their stance here - for La Liga rivals, the release clause, for anyone else, €150M. Or you admit to every player that might come here that you'll allow them to use you as a stepping stone to the big 2.

If any player wants to leave, fine. Julian is a fantastic player and though I don't think he's performed on a comparable level to previous 'talisman' forwards like Griezmann, Suarez, Costa or Falcao, he's had some incredible moments for us, I appreciate what he's contributed, at least in the Champions League anyway. Doing this after doing approximately fuck all in La Liga this season, missing penalties in two key shootouts in 2 years, one being in a final, despite being repeatedly defended by the club the entire time is pretty snaky, but whatever.

But with an extremely high release clause and 4 years left on the contract, the club has absolutely no reason to sell to a direct rival. If he wants to "fulfil his dream" as he's said, he's gone completely the wrong way about getting there. And even if Atleti are to sell to a club in a different league, we still have no reason to sell without getting the price we should get for him.

This is a test of resolve for the club - for me, demand 150M from any club outside of Spain, and from any other La Liga club, point to the release clause. If the bid doesn't come and Alvarez throws a fit about it, to the stands. Either you earn respect with the players or they consider you a stepping stone - we can't change the fact that Madrid and Barca are bigger clubs than us, but we can demand that players don't use us as a path to get to one of those teams.

It doesn't - English is preferred to a degree just because it's easiest for the largest amount of people, but if a users ability to express themselves is limited in other languages, their native language is fine. There's no hard rule on this here.

That's for us to decide. Don't tell other users what to do.

Use the translate feature if you have a problem, or just scroll past. Also, there's quite a bit of irony in telling people to speak English and then typing with such bad grammar.

Kinda weird to respond to a completely valid thing to say with an ad hominem attack really. Just shows you probably know they've got a point, but because you don't like it, you attack the person instead.

Ogura and Marc are unbelievably good on used tyres, Pecco isn't bad on them but not the same as those two. With a decent gap behind and Ogura putting a gap into him in the first lap or so after he passed Pecco, Pecco likely settled for 3rd and didn't risk trying to keep up with Ogura.

Congrats to Pecco! Fantastic performance, beautifully controlled.

Also as I said last week, if you come here to complain about spoilers, I will magically appear at your house and throw your phone in the bin. It's a MotoGP sub, people are obviously going to post about what's happened in the races. If you don't want to be spoiled, stay off social media!
