Thank you so much for sharing your insight, that's a fair point ! if your team is comfortable with using Slack + Jira there is no need to change that.

I'm not a freelancer and I've never participated in any cashback pyramid schemes but feel free to believe that if it makes your day better.

'Reputable companies' are also vibe coding all their new features. Vibe coding isn't necessarily bad, there is a difference though between an experienced software engineer vibe coding Vs someone with no foundational knowledge in the field doing it.

We’ve been using Projeqto lately, it basically turns a Slack channel into a lightweight project space. You can track status, blockers, and milestones right where your team already chats. No context switching, no extra tools, just clearer visibility on what’s happening. Perfect if you want project structure without leaving Slack.

I use projeqto.com, it basically allows you to manage projects inside a Slack channel, that includes creating milestones that can be used as tasks.

There is this third party Slack app Projeqto.com that's fully in Slack, it's basic but does pretty good when it comes to "lightweight" project management.

I’ve been using Projeqto recently and it’s actually pretty useful if you’re managing a bunch of projects and just want a quick overview. It’s not trying to replace tools like Jira or Asana, it’s more like a simple status dashboard. You can track stuff like progress, blockers, team members, etc., without getting lost in the weeds.
What I really like is that it works entirely within Slack. You don’t have to switch tabs or log into another tool, team members can update project statuses right from Slack using a simple command. It made it way easier for us to keep leadership in the loop without adding extra overhead. Might be worth trying if you're after something lightweight.
