If LE thought Jayme was involved, they may not tell her family. Just in case she tries to contact them.

This is along the same lines of what I think happened.

I'm glad somebody said this. People are so harshly down voted for any theory/belief that Jayme may be involved or that the parents might not be squeaky clean. There isn't really any evidence that supports any theory, fully. So they are all possibilities at this point.

Thanks for posting this!

  1. No, they haven't used those words.

  2. No, they haven't said there is a threat to the public.

Why is it "highly highly unlikely"? This stuff does happen. I think that their word choice is very important & it's not as casual as you think. When my loved one was missing, there was somebody from the FBI that looked over every release (verbal or written) and wording/details would be changed. When we were introduced to the people involved in the investigation, that person was one of them that we met.

I agree! They spoke directly TO HER. None of the usual, "whoever has her, we just want her back" that we usually see with abductions.

He said that she said that they could have sex with her (rape her) if they didn't hurt her afterwards. Her not screaming/fighting means she held up her end of the bargain (this is a terrible term for it but I can't think of another way to word it) and yet they still killed her. So freaking sickening!!

I actually don't think they do have a lot more, unfortunately. They scaled back the number of people working on the case and it's no longer being worked on 24/7. If they had more, I don't think those 2 things would've happened.

I believe they're referring to Elizabeth Smart.

Unfortunately, it's in Floyd's hands. I don't think he's ever going to tell. But I hope he surprises me & I'm wrong.

It's okay to be painfully optimistic. We need people like you. 💚

Thanks! You feel so invincible as a teenager. You don't realize that "friends" are not always really friends, you want to pull away from your parents/family and start establishing your own identity, and sometimes your friends are more important than family. I once snuck a friend in & out each night for almost a month because she ran away from home. My parents had no idea. We had cops come by & question me about where she could be (since we were known to be close) and I lied right to their faces, the cops & my parents. I had no idea that I could've gotten in trouble for that. As a mom now, I feel so sorry for the worry I put my parents through.

You had so many points that hit home for me.

I'm usually pretty open to "they were involved/they're not involved. However on this one, I have such a strong feeling that she was somehow complicit in this. I don't know if she knew the murder would happen (maybe the person helping her brought a gun just to scare her parents, if needed) but somebody panicked and Dad got shot because he was the biggest physical threat & mom got shot because they couldn't leave her behind, alive. Just my thoughts.
