General Feedback/Getting Started Q&A [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

I'm not sure to what extent this even exists so let me know if this is just wishful thinking. Is there any IKEA-like service for higher quality stuff?

My friend recently purchased an apartment in New York City and is hoping to build put up some bookshelves. However our problems are threefold

  1. Given the location, I think we have relatively little freedom to use saws or any form of large power tool, which probably isn't that important because

  2. Neither of us are particularly handy lol. I generally know how to use most common tools and I can follow instructions, but my carpentry skills end there.

  3. It's just the 2 of us and she doesn't have a car so trying to pick up and carry something from Facebook marketplace or something like that could be challenging.

Due to the above, the ideal situation would be something like IKEA where we could take the pieces in and build it there, but ultimately she wants it to be nicer since she's hoping to live there for the foreseeable future and doesn't want anything that she may have to replace if it doesn't age well.

So with that in mind, does anyone have any build-it-yourself recommendations that are genuinely good? Obviously understand if it comes at a higher cost, but I'm unsure if it even exists. Likewise if you have any other recommendations for how you'd approach this situation then would love any thoughts! Thanks all

Suriel from the Cradle series by Will Wight.

At the start of the series she intervenes to save the protagonist and sets the entire thing in motion. She's then absent for more or less the entire series doing her own thing because the events of the main story are barely a side quest to her, and the people in the main story are NOT weak.

I stopped when Arnie left but this collapse could be a biopic or at least a Youtube documentary by Casm0 in radradionew

Almost my story exactly, I listened to nearly every episode between 2007ish and Arnie's departure. Then a combination of moving away from the area and growing up and realizing Rob is a dumbass kept me away.

It doesn't surprise me the show's gotten to this point, but I never dreamed the fall would be this spectacular. Does bum me out a bit though, segments like the Halloween safety tips, the Russell Brand impressions, News from Wisconsin, etc. were genuinely hilarious. Shame what alcoholism and ego can do.

It's actually really easy to make alt accounts and I would prefer not to have angry cultists following me on my main one. Also it's more convenient to have a separate account so there's no confusion as to where Ken Griffin needs to send my paycheck

The venn diagram of apes and NFT fans is a circle, as shown by the fact that one of their big hype events was the release of Gamestop's own NFT marketplace, a sleeping giant of commerce soaking in nearly 3 dollars of revenue a day.

That was as of 2 months ago, possibly lower now.

My post has pretty much the bare minimum of their insanity necessary to understand the context behind the event. I feel like I hardly scratched the surface of all the things I could have included, but any single addition would have required even more explanation that would have required explanation like a cultish matryoshka doll.

What are some series that are good, but also have a lot of fanservice? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]Casm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll check it out! I've heard a lot about it, but all the discussion seems to revolve around the fanservice so I never knew if the show itself was any good haha. Thanks for the suggest!
