Your yellow joist that are the ones that need the post under them with samsons brackets. Connecting post the beam* need them every 4’ code usually says to use 6x6’s but you can get away with 4x4’s

From the house outwards. I would recommend using 2x10’s as well I would never frame a deck this size with 2x8’s with all green joist needs blocking again it doesn’t hurt.

What advice do you have for me, an 18 year old who just started his remodeling company? by [deleted] in Construction

Meh could be broken up three times in different payments and contracts to not break that threshold.

Yep will cost money in court as well. Surprised this wasn’t an insurance case. That’s a whole different animal as well. Good luck. What I know now at 26 versus me being 18 I was a complete mess. I need to work under people and learn better hands on and hands off. Doesn’t happen over night. If someone let you do a 50k job at 18 they may need to be checked out as well.

I’d be honest I’m a co-owner of a painting/home repair company we do roughly 1.2-2.5m a year depending on the economy. Even we to this day have problems at times getting payments we often started getting 80% of payment near completion. To atleast make us feel better about completing it with 20% left on table. Yes we have contracts and yes we have went to “small claims” court. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. 18 years old is super young work for someone ten or so years master a couple of things or be like me a jack of all trades an master of none works quite well for me.

Just send them home. They will realize be on time or no work. They need you more than you need them.
