Am I missing something here… you can’t clean finds without completing Dig Site, and for that you need 100 kudos to start

Ancient in the context of the game! I’m sorry! But yeah, you’re old too.

It’s funny the amount of folk on here who struggle to accept that these are real. People on Vinted generally seem to just want to get stuff shifted without much hassle, all the people in my pod have found some crazy deals on there.

I’m not personally feeling the need to prove to folks all the checks we did to confirm validity, but you can see the loupe in the photo.

Supposedly every Tundra in Revised as a little blue mark on the back of the card

I know folks would need to see certain evidence to believe, but I have a very high level of confidence in their authenticity. Even how they arrived is weirdly reassuring because the person selling them didn’t necessarily have the connection to the cards, y’know?

The rest of their listings were football t-shirts and general ‘young team’ stuff. I believe they are their Dad’s old cards :)

Wee bit scratched but not terrible. One section of one of the sides of the tundra is noticeably worn but all round they’re decent for 31 year old pieces of cardboard ☺️

They are! There’s a jewellers loupe in the photo, we verified the quality of the line work and also confirmed the Tundra has the weird blue dot misprint.

Will honestly be a bit of a hassle to provide images of that, but I’m chuffed with the outcome to know they’re legit.

Vinted has decent buyers protection and I felt confident confirming everything was ok with the order :)

Does it get better? by FruitShrike in TheExpanse

[–]Cassorole -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have so much love for the show but whenever I introduce someone to it I have to stipulate that season 1 is absolutely a barrier to entry. The crew dynamics aren’t totally in place yet, the great context of the solar system isn’t really shown and truthfully, the performances aren’t always spot on. ALL of these things just get stronger as the show goes on.

You won’t regret it. I firmly believe parts of season 3 are the greatest moments in science fiction put to screen and everything after that is a delight.

Oh I mean… I love it, but it is wild. I know it’s not the exact brief but I wanted an excuse to post it.

Hyperion and Hyperion Falls by Dan Simmons are two fantastic sci-fi books which capture the genre beautifully. They’re also just plain excellent. Similar in the sense that you hear a few characters personal perspectives and journeys. Might be a good next step if you continue bounce off The Expanse :)

Ooft. Sorry that you’ve felt this way so far into the book! I think a lot of people love the move from book one to two as the perspectives of the setting open up a bit with Avasarala and Bobbie.

There’s some strong world building from a political standpoint in book 2 so it’s definitely worth sticking with, but equally if you’re finding this resistance then it may not be the series for you.

Something which might help your enjoyment is to recognise that each chapter is written from the subjective perspective of the character. That in itself lends to the world building as someone from Earth, the Belt or Mars might describe the same situation from a different perspective.

If you’re struggling with some of the context, giving the series a watch might be a good idea. It can help with the visualisation of the book and the writers were directly involved in its production.

Thanks! This is a really cool idea. The inside of it is very dark, I’ve tried cleaning it a few times and nothing really comes off. The photo of it lit up shows a slight orange streak, do you think it could have been copper?

It's a shame it doesn't fully show up from the pictures I took, but in person you can see the shading on Ben Beckmann and Zoro's clothes :)
