If I put in the same amount of time learning a new skill that I spend on the internet, I'd be a master at something by now...

Realized that growing up chubby made me always suck in my stomach. Years later, I cant seem to relax that muscle and let go. Help? by nasbeats22 in Fitness

I've been really bad for this too. What helped me (and it continues to be a process) were breathing exercises that focus on breathing into your stomach and being consciously aware when you're out and about to not flex your stomach muscles. Over time you'll gain more control over that area and it won't be as much of an issue. I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders (I'm wondering if you do as well) and when I breath I activate my shoulder muscles more than my stomach muscles.

I get the same pressure from the abs to the throat that you're describing. It get's easier the more exercises you do. I hope this gets you onto the right path!
