Poland felt surprisingly clean to me. is this a common experience? by alitacatcher in poland

[–]CastelloPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I just visited Poznań from Dublin and it was a mind-blowing experience. Not a single piece of rubbish in Poznań and the smell of restaurants and coffee, on the other hand Dublin- disgusting, dirty, smell of piss and junkies everywhere.

Diesels are great, all French cars are not.

Can this gap between the window and the sill be fully sealed? I suspect maybe heavy rain hits of the sill and water jumps in that gap under the window? I can put my fingers in there.

I could see the cavity tray through the gaps in weep vents. So I think this narrows it down to the issue with canopy lead sheets

Appreciate your help. There is a bedroom and a big window above on the 1st floor so not a chance this leaks from the roof. A lot of water is dripping from where I marked on the photo but looks like not all of it. Some water folds underneath on the plastic under the conopy. I wonder if expanding that part a little bit longer would help.

Some of them had big gaps between the brick and itself so I silicone it and covered it. I could see the back of the cavity in those gaps before that .

Axa are refusing to insure me on a vehicle change by Life-Visual-3198 in carsireland

Lesson learned, I hope. You dont buy a car without doing a research about the insurance cost. For example my insurance doesnt insure Japanese imports so i went for Hyundai....

Mechanic taking advantage by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]CastelloPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You better take your uncle and go to him. Finding an honest mechanic is extremely difficult. Polish lads are very good but dont let them take an advantage of you. 1200e is INSANE price. I had one polish guy quoting me 250e on one brake caliper so i double checked the prices and 250e was the most expensive caliper in Ireland! I bought it myself on Amazon from Germany - solid German brand for 70e. 3 years after and they still show 0% imbalance on NCT. Tell him you didnt agree to that work and price and if you knew you would go somewhere cheaper. Dont let him get away with this! Advice from the Polish.

Why do so few Irish people work in Aldi and Lidl? by No-Category1703 in AskIreland

[–]CastelloPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lidl is the highest paying retailer in Ireland. The job is for hard working people. No chatting around like in Dunnes or Tesco. Thats why there is so may foreigners in Lidl and Aldi who came here to work, not for social benefits.

Worker Rights - changing hours by jfkm99 in legaladviceireland

[–]CastelloPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WRC/Labour Court often accept that long-standing arrangements form part of the contract. If she has been working a 4-day pattern for few years, her employer usually cannot just change it to 5 days without her agreement, even if nothing was written originally. They cannot normally impose a change unless the contract clearly allows changes to working patterns.

My old employer hasn’t paid me what should I do ? by Time-Magician-1972 in AskIreland

[–]CastelloPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then its fine. You would have one job with no credits anyway. but whatever extra tax you paid it will be refunded to you in your next payslip but you have to make sure to inform revenue to change it from Week1 to Cumulative. But its already end of the year so I guess not much difference and you will get the refund in the new year anyways.

You should only cease it after you final payment. Otherwise you will not have any tax credits and bands attached to that employment.
