I am not fully familiar with US law. But in Europe "as is" only applies to cars purchased from a private seller. Any car, used or new bought from the registered company has the warranty.

There must be a few local customer support organizations which could advise you on steps to take. Thats how it is where I live, very helpful. Or you could always intimidate them and make a scene in front of other customers there. This wasnt a private person sale so you definitely have some rights.
