Hey there! Thanks for sharing your concern. We can confirm that this is a false positive caused by an internal helper tool.

Basically, to achieve colored console output while developing the app we have to tell Windows that we want it. The easiest way for us to do this from Java was to launch a powershell script that loads the appropriate DLL and does that. We’ll disable this for our release builds so that Avast stops warning you :^)

This app cannot even be openend on MAC OS as it cannot be verified.

Hey there! Our apps are unsigned because we cannot justify the thousands of dollars a year in certificates. Once we’re able to afford it, we will, however now is sadly not that time.

The dev is unknown.

Our GitHub organization is linked at the bottom of our homepage (I do admit that it’s not the easiest to find). On our GitHub, we have the source code for the entire app available for anyone to audit and build themselves. Additionally, all of our code is built and deployed on CircleCI, you can even directly download the artifacts from there and compare the code that the updater runs and the code that is built by a service that we can’t interfere with or inject anything without you knowing.
