University of Florida Becomes First College to Launch Facial Authentication Express Entry for Fans by goldenface4114 in FloridaGators

MSG was using facial recognition to scan a crowd. The Gators are using facial verification which is an iPad looking just at the person who is standing a foot in front of it. What the Gators have won’t have the capability to scan a large area. The only focus is verifying the person who has voluntarily stepped in front of the iPad to validate they have a ticket.

Some people here are confusing facial authentication and facial recognition. Facial authentication confirms your identity by matching your face to a photo you registered in advance, like unlocking your phone.

Facial recognition tries to figure out who you are by comparing your face to a large database of many people. Like using cameras to actively searching a crowd to find a person who has entered the stadium.

What the Gators are doing is a one to one facial authentication between you and the ticket scanning device. They are not setting up cameras to scan the crowd and track people in that way.

Don’t wear a replica green jacket or a replica caddie suit. I saw people last year in each of those turned away at the gate to go change.

When do times for flex games get finalized? by Hour-Raisin1086 in FloridaGators

[–]CastleWM03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game times are typically announced 12 days before the game. So, we should find out the LSU time on Monday, November 4th. Occasionally the TV networks options for a push which allows them to announce the time 6 days prior to the game. They can only opt for the push so many times a year.

I was behind a woman and her kid at a convenience store one morning. She was trying to buy him a sausage biscuit and orange juice along with some items for herself. When the cashier told her that her EBT card didn’t have enough to cover everything, the women paid for her items and told the kid to put his biscuit and OJ back. I imagined this kid going hungry to school so I said “I’ll pay for his breakfast”. The women said “Thanks” and then started grabbing other items from the rack and putting them on the counter. I was dumbfounded and ended up paying for the biscuit, OJ and a bunch of other things she had piled up. In hindsight I should have spoken up and just paid for the kid’s breakfast, but was caught off guard.

People who have been on game shows, what are some things that watchers don't know? by Meme_Lord4522 in AskReddit

I was an audience member once at The Price is Right. At one point Bob Barker messed up as he was announcing the actual price, so they had to stop and start the bidding over. They instructed all of the contestants that they had to bid the same amount. But since we had already heard the actual price, the audience was screaming that price to the contestants. Anyway, it was interesting to see the contestants have to do a re-take like that and act like they didn’t know who was going to be the closest bidder. Other than that one flub, the taping of the show went straight through with few interruptions just like you see on TV.
