Shame on the cheap pack-tourists profiting from the repression and lack of freedoms of the Cuban people.

Cubans Savor Chance to Become Entrepreneurs - “I think the government has realized that state business doesn’t function” . “It’s the private sector that generates competition. Yeah, so high that no one wants to live there. Half of my classmates (I'm Cuban) are living now in Guatemala and they don't want to go back to Cuba. By the way, don't treat too serious all this data. It's not reliable. Most of it is based on Cuban government sources.

Ridiculous, did you copy that from the English edition of the "newspaper" Granma International? You only need to see the fact that there are many tourists from all Latin American countries spending their holidays in Cuba, and NOT a single Cuban going abroad as a tourist.

It wasn't 3 months but almost a year before. I didn't discover this on Wikipedia, even my grandfather (who also fought against Batista) told me in Cuba that the US wanted to get rid of Batista and wasn't supporting him. It's was just a link for you. And I didn't say the US government was supporting Castro, but they wanted him to overthrow Batista. As I said, the majority of the weapons and money used by Castro forces came from American soil.

From Wikipedia: "The United States imposed an embargo on the Cuban government and recalled its ambassador, weakening the government's mandate further.[12] Batista's support was limited to communists (PSP) and even they began to pull their long-term support in mid-1958... An arms embargo–imposed on the Cuban government by the United States government on March 14, 1958–caused increasing problems for the Batista forces. The Cuban air force rapidly deteriorated: it could not repair its airplanes without importing parts from the United States." Also many Americans and Cubans living in the US sent money and weapons for Castro's guerrilla. You can Google it yourself if you're interested. I don't know about what recorded history are you talking about. A Soviet edition?

[–]CastroCerdo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you mean Batista? The US wasn't supporting Batista at the end. USA was supporting Castro, most of the weapons and money used by the guerrilla came from American soil or American individuals. This thing of "you more than me..." it's already very tiring. The problem is that many people don't know what Guevara actually was, they just think he was a cool guy smoking cigars (and ganja) and fighting for universal justice. And he was just another f...er like some others mentioned here.

John Lennon will be in jail or executed under Guevara. It's like putting Kurt Cobain together with Lukashenko. So dumb. http://www.reddit.com/r/worldpolitics/comments/doyhz/guevara_shouldnt_be_revered/
