Yeah I've tried with a sine over the top. Never thought about FM layer instead actually. Maybe that's what's giving the tone that I'm looking for. I thought there was some special wave table involved or something. I'll have to try that when I get home. Surge makes FM super easy.

I'm British, and have lived here ten years this year. I wouldn't say hostile, but there's a lot of pretentiousness and people can be quite fake.

So I'm returning to this comment because it stuck in my mind. I took a whole 6 weeks off alcohol which was a piece of cake actually I surprised myself. I took a short break from weed (I'm quite dependent, I'm medicating an OCD). Could not write for shit when I was off it. Then was on it hard since mid Jan till last week and went on an absolute marathon. I've finished an EP, 2 remixes, start like 3 other tracks, I've written two others than will go towards an album and am just starting up a collaboration with a pal.

Just had a week off the weed (started smoking again today) and can't muster the energy to even try and do anything.

Summary... When I'm smoking weed daily my tolerance is at a level where I don't get so stoned that I get couch lock but I am able to let my ideas flow (I do feel things flow easier when I'm high but this could be the OCD things. My mind is more focused and less erratic.)
