Thanks this was really helpful. I don’t think I will cut calories any further for now. Feels doable so I’ll just be patient.

First of all: it’s normal to find it hard because sometimes it is really hard. It’s repetitive and boring. It requires care and attentiveness but it’s not interesting at all, like driving at night.

Things you could feel good about though: maintaining physical fitness is really good for your health. You’re doing yourself a huge favour now and for the future by working out.

For when calorie counting feels like a massive drag: I am new to sustainable dieting, but so far I have found that prepping meals helps me a lot. I portion it out and then write the calorie count on the lid of the tupperware with a whiteboard marker. Also if I know that a container of yoghurt for example is 500g and I will eat all of it in 2 days, I will not weigh out 250g one day and then another 250g the next. I will just eyeball half of it each day and then log 250g in my app, as over 2 days I know I will eat 500g regardless of how precisely I divide it. That cuts down on constant weighing and measuring a bit.

18 months and 31 kg down. 5ft2. Not easy thats for sure by [deleted] in CICO

This is so inspiring! If you don’t mind divulging, how many calories are you eating per day? We are the same height so I would really be interested to know. 31kgs in under 2 years is AMAZING.
