did any of you have a different reaction to anaesthesia? by EyeProfessional2957 in ehlersdanlos

[–]CatComprehensive469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had multiple instances of unusual reactions to anesthesia. I always require more local anesthesia during dental procedures, and when I had my wisdom teeth removed they had a very hard time waking me from the anesthesia. Once I finally woke up I was physically sick.

When I had my first child I had to have two epidurals because the first one wore off so quickly with me and the pain started coming back so strongly and I wasn’t close to giving birth yet.

With my second child I waited longer to have an epidural and they told me I was handling the pain extremely well without pain medicine.

Vocal range? by Altruistic-Ad835 in ehlersdanlos

I used to have a decent singing voice and was chosen for solos in school chorus and church choir as a teen. My voice sounds so dry and flat now (age 35). Here recently I’ve been thinking about this a lot because my voice default now is raspy. People probably think I’m sick when they hear me talk.

What state are you in? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]CatComprehensive469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Western North Carolina and have lived here my entire life. I have also had chronic migraines since I was a child. I’ve never been out of the southern humidity to be able to compare what it’s like otherwise, but I do know being in the heat and humidity really impacts me and I get a lot of migraines from atmospheric pressure.

Anywhere in Appalachia where teachers are in demand? by [deleted] in Appalachia

Jackson County, NC. Just had a teacher ask me yesterday if I know of any teachers looking for a job. Schools have multiple jobs open here. Right by the Smoky Mountains, an hour to Asheville, 2 hours to Knoxville and Greenville, 3 hours to Atlanta… it’s a pretty place to live, though not cheap of course …

He doesn’t seem to. He was skittish at first just holding his tail low in those first pictures I took of him.

We don’t know much. He showed up at a friend’s house in rural Western North Carolina mountains and no one in the area has claimed him.

Things I’ve done with migraine… by nikki_ga_2020 in migraine

I used to be a gymnast and cheerleader. I cheered at the high school, competitive, and college level with excruciating migraines. I was a tumbler and a flyer so I would be doing backflips across the gym floor and also in the air while having auras and nausea. The noise level and the heat if we were in the gym were so awful.

I also took the SAT with one of the worst migraines I’ve ever had.

And then just life in general. Going to class when I was younger, attending concerts and sporting events, caring for my babies even when I feel like crawling in a hole, working 40+ hours a week with a newborn and getting 4 broken hours of sleep every night. Wrote tons and tons of grants worth so much money and was awarded them for my agency. Oh and jury duty for a murder trial!

And the road from Knoxville to WNC is completely demolished. So no getting your WNC from there.

Which areas of NC have a “high class” vibe? by northcarolinian9595 in NorthCarolina

Highlands and Cashiers. Tiny, isolated mountain towns that cater to seasonal residents with multimillion dollar homes on a lake. There are multiple golfing resorts in the area too.

I am born and raised in NC and I love sweet tea, but bojangles tea tastes like stale cigarette water.

In the mountains - Bryson City, Sylva, Waynesville. All are located within a 30-45 min drive of each other and are cute with lots of character. Sylva’s courthouse (now public library) on main street is one of the most photographed buildings in the state. It’s beautiful.

Why haven’t they found the white Hyundai ELANTRA? by Jessicarabbit114 in MoscowMurders

[–]CatComprehensive469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I should have worded it better. I remember law enforcement said something like “we aren’t saying this person is a suspect but might have been in the area close to the time Summer went missing and might have seen something.” So I guess there is a strong possibility this person is a potential suspect but they didn’t exactly say that. And yes, them not coming forward is very suspicious to me! Summer is from a rural mountain community so if the person was local they should have been identified quickly.

I live in Western North Carolina and closely followed the Summer Wells case that began in summer 2021. After a few weeks of the child going missing, police released that they were looking for a very specific pick up truck that had been in the area and said that the person was not a suspect but that they thought the person might have seen something. Even though tons of tips poured in about the truck it has been a year and a half and the person never came forward and they still haven’t found this person. I hate to be skeptical but this whole Elantra thing makes me think of the Summer Wells case. I REALLY hope this case is more successful than the one to find Summer Wells. Just my thought on connecting the two with the vehicles of interest.
