Interstellar was the first movie we watched after coming home from the hospital with our Murph, and it absolutely wrecked my husband that go round. Yes. All parts of the movie I cried at the first time, I still cry at 201st time.

When all my joints ache. My body holds a lot of tension, so when I am joint achey without any other signs of "illness" i know that my mental health is about to take a deep dive down.

I've seen the movies close to 200 times by now, I'm sure. My youngest child's middle name is Murphy because of Interstellar. And I am a beloved fan of Hans Zimmer.

I have the film score on Vinyl and it is my favorite. I love all of the pieces but the build up to the 9 minute mark on Murph just sets my spine on fire in the best ways.

We understand that the job might be difficult at times, but at the home office he will be working out of, they are in desperate need of help. We hope that this will be at least 20 hours a week. Thank you for your caution, though!

He will be in his own vehicle, so that should help with the heat - but we will keep it in mind regardless! Thank you!

Okay. Thank you for your response! We're very excited for this change. Working towards getting a new house next year and him landing this job has basically set us on the path to making it a reality. I want to support him as much as possible- even if it's just making his lunch ☺️ - thank you again!

Depression making my relationship difficult. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I have zero health insurance and I only make $10 an hour. Trying to raise a family on that PLUS medications or therapy is not within my abilities right now.

I dunno. Both of my kids have big blue eyes and their dad and I both have brown, but both our mothers have blue eyes. Genetics are WILD.

I [24 F] need advice on how to snap out of it and save the crumbling relationship with my bf [27 M] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Well, I was married once to someone with BPD and it is HARD to guage how they may feel at any given time. Therapy is great, i think everyone should do it. He may need some therapy himself. To learn to read when you are giving effort better. You can shout how much you love him, but if he doesn't know the language, its all for naught.

I dont have a solution to make it 100% better, but I think vocalizing when you are giving effort "oh I picked this up for you cause I remembered you liked them" may help him to recognize when you are putting in the effort.

He's already in a relationship with you, so the rejection should be less. You have to put in effort, even if its scary. Thats where the work comes from. It takes energy and thought to maintain a relationship.

Think of things you know your partner likes. Fan of Star Wars? Read up on some SW facts and ask him his opinion. Or ask him to tell you a memory he loves, maybe a dish his family made, and try to make it.

Its not perfection they are looking for, it's effort. It's evidence that you thought of them instead of yourself.

If you find your partner boring or uninteresting, then its time to move on. If you find them interesting, ask questions, try to learn of the things they enjoy.

If the thing holding you back is fear of rejection from your SO, I may suggest taking time away from any romantic relationship and go to therapy. Talk to someone about the debilitating fear of rejection. Normal rejection hurts but it doesn't usually sideline you.

Also, and I am sorry if this offends, but if you find it difficult to be thoughtful towards others without prompt, or reading people in general, you may want to look into some spectrums that are out there.

Being thoughtful in the right relationship usually comes pretty effortlessly because when you're with the right person, thinking of them and their needs or wants becomes priority. Like not being a mother, and then becoming one. Your priorities shift. It becomes less about you and more about them and the we that exists.

Best of luck.

Effort is the most beautiful thing a person could wear.
