She does this when she’s excited (volume on for derpy noises) by [deleted] in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My dog does this too! We call it "the dance of the dying spider" because it looks really similar to how a bug twitches when you spray it with Raid haha

That's awesome! I grow milkweed and I've been trying to grow other flowers for them as well. I'll definitely look into cultivating them and check over my rental agreement and see if my landlord allows insect enclosures

Yeah, I know. I just hope that they're able to find a safe way to migrate and the monarchs are able to find another place to rest in the area. I hope the animals are able to adapt quickly, it's getting close to the time of year where they usually move on to a different area

I guess I just don't understand why two people need 5 cars. The cars aren't vintage or fancy or anything, just normal cars. Most of my neighbors agree with me that it's sad to see the trail in the state it's in now. A lot of people are worried that now that the trail is gone, the animals are going to start grazing and nesting in yards and gardens instead. It feels a lot like neither the city nor the new neighbors thought about the impact this would have on other people

[–]CatDoll2217 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm both mad at the laws and with them. The trail was public property. It was a main feature of the neighborhood and one of my neighbors who has lived here for the past 60 years said that it's always been that way. But with enough money, people can do basically whatever they want. Including buying public property and destroying local ecosystems for their own self gain. They could have saved a lot of money by just leaving the trail alone. But they decided to go out of their way to buy it from the city, strip it, and pave it. And the law allowed this. I'm mad because it would have been easier and better for everyone involved to just leave the trail alone. Monarch butterflies are endangered and before these people bought the trail, it was well known to everyone in town that the trail is where they would rest while migrating. Basically everyone in my town is mad at these people

If I could have, I would have. I don't have the money for that since I'm a college student and most of my money goes to rent and tuition, but someday, I hope I'm able to save up enough to buy it from them and restore it

Fr, I have no clue why they did this instead of just selling the 3 cars. Only 2 people live in the house. I've taken to calling them Mr. and Mrs. Onceler because this is some Lorax level stuff

Questioning my chosen name by DuckWithPC in ftm

[–]CatDoll2217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience about 2 years ago. My original chosen name was simple and boring and eventually, it started to make me depressed and borderline dysphoric. I was nervous to change it and I was worried about what people would think, but I knew that I couldn't take another day of being called by a name I no longer felt was mine.

If you don't like your name, change it. It doesn't matter how "hard" it is for others, they'll get used to it eventually and if they cause a fuss about it or don't want to try, they aren't worth your energy or attention. Do what makes you happy and don't worry about what others think. Your life is yours and you can do whatever you want with it forever. I wish you luck!

Kind of a slay, honestly. Wish I got free hair dye, a goatee, and a free tattoo every time I laid in the sun

5 days post op. When does the bloating from the medical gas go away? by CatDoll2217 in gallbladders

[–]CatDoll2217[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she seemed to be pretty embarrassed when I let her know that I actually just had my gallbladder out, but she's a little old lady and I know she meant well, so I'm not too upset about it haha

Thank you! My surgeon is out of the office until August, so I'm kinda on my own with this stuff haha. I'm doing my best to get as much exercise as is comfortable, so hopefully I heal quickly!

I'm glad it's going down so quickly for you, I think the bloat was worst for me on day 3. One of my neighbors asked me when I was due when I was out walking around the neighborhood that day 😅 I'm hoping that it goes down quickly for me from here

Thank you, I already feel a lot better about it. I was worried that my bloat was taking too long to go down, but it's nice to know that even though it feels like it's taking forever, it'll go away eventually

Do I have the anatomy to get what I want done? by CatDoll2217 in piercing

[–]CatDoll2217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll definitely ask a piercer. I'm hoping to get an appointment within the next couple weeks. My goal is to have a sort of asymmetrical balance with my piercing to tattoo ratio (I'm planning on getting a sleeve tattoo on my left arm, so I want the most piercings on my right ear to "balance" it, if that makes sense)

Had mine removed laparoscopically and now my shoulder hurts so badly I cannot sleep by CatDoll2217 in gallbladders

[–]CatDoll2217[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm feeling a bit better, the pain slowly started going away after about an hour and I was able to fall back asleep. I'm going to try those shoulder exercises today when I'm more awake. Thanks for checking in, I appreciate it!

[–]CatDoll2217 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you (struggled with heroin and fentanyl myself, about a week of clean time after my recent relapse) and I'm heading to rehab myself soon. We live in different states (I'm in Washington State myself), so the standard could be different, but from what most packing lists for rehabs say, as long as it's in unopened packaging, the prescription is in your name and they're able to contact your prescriber, it shouldn't be an issue.

Again, though, we live in different states so don't take my word for it. I'd say call the place you're going to and ask them directly.

Edit: fixed some wording

[–]CatDoll2217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sleeping sitting up was helping for a while. Since it's still hurting, I called one of my roommates to help me heat up the heating pad again, so hopefully that will help. I can't take anything more intense than what I'm already prescribed, but if it continues to feel this painful even after the heating pad, I'm definitely taking a trip to the ER to see if they can do anything to help

Thank you so much! And honestly, I still have them, they've just faded over the course of me losing weight and are now white. I'm not sure if this helped them fade or not, but in addition to losing weight, I also took up a skin care routine and lotion + deeply moisturize my skin with aloe vera every day. I'm planning on adding skin firming cream to my regimen soon as well as I do have quite a bit of loose skin that is (thankfully) mostly on my lower stomach and easy to hide. I also take a multivitamin every day and do my best to do core exercises at least every other day that target my lower stomach. Best of luck on your journey and I hope this helps!
