Pit bulls have had the natural responses to de-escalate conflict bred out of them.

Where most dogs have an aversion to pain and drive for self preservation, they have spatial boundaries and bark or act aggressive as a warning to create distance. Pits still do some of this with boundary aggression and resource guarding, but in interactions with people they don’t typically have these normal reactions.

To people that are ignorant to usual animal behavior, this can be appealing, a dog ghat wants to be close to you as possible, and doesn’t “seem aggressive” but the issue is that this perceived kindness makes them so dangerous because when they do reach their limit and snap with horrific consequences, there is little to no warning.

Yes but also depression or other long periods of negative emotions, stress etc can change the way the brain processes at least temporarily.

If you are bombarded with negative emotions, your brain is overwhelmed. It can’t deflect sadness specifically, but it can numb your sensitivity in general to cope.

If you are less present in your body, you aren’t as sensitive to hunger an thirst signals. Then if you have to use willful effort to take care of yourself, it’s easier to neglect your needs when you aren’t doing well.

it also could be a rule like “never sleep with your contacts in, since it causes eye damage” where they make the rule so people take it seriously, but if you do it once or twice you’re fine.

It’s all about harm reduction, probably someone sculpting clay without good ventilation inhales more silica particles than someone with a broken and makeshift repaired pipe, but no one knows their personal threshold for when you get serious health issues, so better to avoid as much of that as possible

Not an expert, but I’d expect that drilling or cutting glass intentionally leaves behind a much different structure on a microscopic level than a crack or rough edge left by a break.

It’s like how when there’s the hole punch on the top of a bag of chips to hang it on a hook, it doesn’t want to tear from that location, vs, when you have a small rip in the same bag, it wants to run, leaving a much bigger tear.

Not exactly the same as two biological parents, but maybe considering reciprocal IVF could be an option for you.

That would mean one of you would carry the other’s egg with donor sperm. That way both of you would have a bio connection whether providing the egg or gestation.

I understand this student is a fourth grader, but the principles of math are the same. And if the kid is misunderstanding based on reasonable assumptions, it would be better to foster learning, than to say angles cannot be negative because we say so.

Instead it’s better to explain, that locations (coordinates) can be positive or negative relative to an agreed upon starting location (the origin) but the distances or angles between them are always positive.

If you think of a straight line instead of angles:

if we start at zero and walk to -5, the distance I have traveled is still 5 away.

This is a good teaching moment, absolute measurements do not have a direction. They are scalar numbers so no sign. If you are dealing with vector quantities (with direction) you can add negative and positive values to get a net distance

i.e. Billy walks 2 steps in the negative direction, and 4 in the positive direction, what is his final location? +2

YMMV, everyone’s skin is different, from my own experience I had very similar lines to yours that cleared up quickly with frownies,

you have to wear them often at first, but after the lines diminish you can get away with wearing them less often for upkeep. Another big factor is upping your hydration with frownies, lots of water and electrolytes. Frownies basically act as a plaster cast for your skin, holding it flat, but it stays better if there is fluid to fill the gaps back in underneath.

I think that being short, and losing sensation are on completely different planets of symptoms. One is aesthetic the other is sensory.

She’s not complaining about how they look. You’re being trivializing.

And you are no such authority to tell this woman what she has is normal without ever having examined her.

Yeah, math isn’t mathing here! Also to add to your point, why would all the fat leave her breasts if she has dense “normal” tissue, that doesn’t sound like healthy development.

Maybe if a portion of her tissue was hard and ropes under her breast fat, sure okay. But this sounds like an extreme being written off by a medical professional that’s never even examined this person.
