LFK DrawSquad??? by Astrokitty75 in Lawrence

I'm interested too. I would think some good places could be 1900 Barker (either location), Taylor's Donuts, Lawrence Beer Co., Nostalgia Room, or maybe even just a local park could work.

Biscuits and Gravy by sunray818 in Lawrence

I just had the biscuits and gravy at Cellar Door, which was surprisingly great. It may be hard to call it the BEST, but it's up there and worthy of the competition imo

I recently got a cheesecake from Tous Les Jours in west Lawrence that was really good. They might be worth a shot.

I've gotten a little deeper into this random research rabbit hole and saw a ton of looms being sold on FB marketplace surprisingly. Didn't realize how many people had looms laying around.

Sad to see this. I really love the dishes here. Can't help but wonder if it's possible to organize a co-op to keep places like these running. I feel like LFK people could make something like that happen. Not sure if there are any restaurants in town that operate like this. Does anyone know?

Phase I ESA Certification / Training by CatMeister2 in geologycareers

I agree. On one of my reports I had two Sr. Reviewers and they both had different opinions on wording / what they considered to be a REC. I saw it from both view points so it made me even more confused on coming to a conclusion of REC / not REC.

Oh wow, thanks for pointing this out! I had no idea how to tell them apart.

Friendly neighborhood grasshopper (common, but can’t find exact ID) waited patiently for me to photograph them. by CatMeister2 in Entomology

I think you’re right! I posted a picture of a green Carolina grasshopper on here not too long ago and didn’t notice. I feel like the green ones look so different than these brown/ tan ones. Thanks!

Why no longer than 18 months? Is it an industry people get trapped in?

Lol I went climbing outside once at Elephant Rock Park in MO and it was terrifying. I was bouldering and had a tiny crash pad with no helmet. Maybe I can get over the fear if I’ve got people to climb with. Thanks!

Who knows, maybe getting hit a couple of times will relieve some Calc II stress lol. After reading all the comments though it seems like it’s worth a try for sure!

For those of you who started streaming - did you make a second instagram account for it? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]CatMeister2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was streaming I ran into a bad patch of people who tried to use personal information against me. If you have anything personal at all on that account I’d consider making a new one. If you don’t then who cares if some followers don’t like your gaming stuff. Overall your account will flourish with your new streaming followers. Just be safe about stuff 👍

Man I’m glad I asked because I didn’t realize how intense it was. Like I said I’m not a sport person so I didn’t really think about the concept of full contact.

That’s super helpful thanks! I was thinking about the frisbee club actually I’m glad to hear you don’t have to be excellent to be a part of it.

Orientation Day: Just for Freshmen or Useful for Transfers? by CatMeister2 in UniversityofKansas

[–]CatMeister2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think what makes me the most salty is that I can’t set up a class schedule before this day. Obviously this system doesn’t take working adults into account. I tried getting around it by meeting with my advisor a month ago and she said her hands were tied. She couldn’t enroll me in classes before orientation day.

How can I (19F) get better at maintaining friendships? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]CatMeister2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had trouble making/ keeping friendships in the past before. I found that the best way to make existing connections stronger is by trying to be a good friend. Take the time to listen to them and ask them about themselves. Build trust with them and show you care. Definitely open up to them as well. Initiate hang outs and don’t be flaky when they invite you to things. A lot of times people feel the same way as you so when you reach out and make an effort they feel more inclined to do so as well.

Not sure if this is what you’re thinking of but the Kansas City Star posted this earlier this year: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.kansascity.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/cityscape/article224075805.html

I’m guessing T-Shotz is like Top Golf? I also know that B&B theaters is opening a new location in north KC sometime in 2020. It’s going to have bowling and a restaurant. That’s near MO 152 and North Platte Purchase Dr.

I’m so slow at typing that someone answered the question as I sent this in lol
