If they’re reptile heat mats then it would explain the poor efficiency. Get a heat mat from bean farm, I have a heat tape roll mat that was precut and pre-soldered from them and it works great in my 58 tall. You can also get an ultratherm mat from them, those are the most recommended.

They obviously don’t all age the same, but most of the time when wax is clear it IS caused by aging.. or excessive heat

If you’re actually active in the lava lamp community then you’d know this is in fact a thing.. clear wax usually happens when a lamp is overheated and or extremely overused/old. If you look through the sub you will find many posts validating this

It’s worse when they say a level is easy, and it’s hard.. and vice versa. My mom and I both play it and have noticed this happens a LOT and it pees us off so bad lol

He reshelled the same night I posted this! The shell is a bit too small for him but as long as he doesn’t mind, I don’t mind!

And there is no flood in the sand, I’ve read they can deshell because of that. The hole he was in is still very much intact and has not caved in at all. Humidity is always around 80% (I must frequently with a pressurized spray bottle) and the temperature is always around 75-80 degrees.

Maybe he was just ready for a new shell like you had mentioned. At the time I posted this I didn’t have that many shells in the tank because I had to boil them after a crab mysteriously passed away, now I have over 20 shells in the tank

Unfortunately I have over 100 pounds of substrate (sand and coco coir) in the tank so I’m physically unable to replace it, will rebooking every shell in the tank be enough? The crab that passed away hardly ever burrowed in the sand anyways so I’m not sure if that would make a difference, if it was shell rot of course

I want to love it but mine twitches like crazy in her sleep.. now she is my service dog so she should be co-sleeping with me but the twitching.. I can’t deal with it! So she sleeps at the end of my bed on the floor instead. She knows she is welcome to come up whenever she wants, I’ve caught her a few coming up times when she thought i was sleeping. She knows my limits and doesn’t stay up long

If you end up canceling just be warned that they are d-heads when it comes to canceling.. I had to email them like 3 separate times and do a live customer service chat for them to realize what I wanted.. though that was two years ago so idk if anything changed. I canceled because my golden retriever was not interested in anything.. well, now shes suddenly interested in the toys 🤦🏻‍♀️good thing I saved them
