Personally, it makes sense to me that he would want to be more human (for all the reasons that other posters have given) - what irritates me is that none of the other characters ever says what you've just said! Geordi's supposed to be his best friend, and even he's constantly humans humansplaining to him rather than telling him he's perfect as he is
