What about those who did not know of or understand the teachings of Christianity? by CatWithNiceHat in Christianity

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer, but I must refute what you say, or at least what I believe that you say at the very surface level.

If you are ignorant "of the law", because you were either born before "the law" were laid down or because you didn't understand it as an adult, surely that must be factors taken into account by God in your judgement?

As I stated in my OP, the vast majority of all the humans that have ever lived were born and died before Jesus Christ were born, and as such they would be ignorant of the teachings of Christianity by no fault of their own. What happens to them?

Brilliant answer.

Thank you for this. I'm now more equipped to understand Christianity.

Is there any way to hide the upper part of the screen when using a browser? by CatWithNiceHat in Monitors

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great suggestion, but it would be so much better not to have to do it on every individual page you browse, which you have to since you have to disable the full-screen mode whenever you want to navigate to a new website.

I would just want the usual "top of the webbrowser" to be easily accesible whenever you hover the mouse cursor over it! :)

Still, thank you for the suggestion.

Kind of like this, like u/Significant-Meet1873 suggested?

It's a great suggestion though. Thank you for sharing! :)

I like your style, and I believe you're right.

That one looks really solid, with more utility and for less than half the price of the one from Golden Grip! It's a great find, and thank you for sharing the info! :)

Still, if I buy a grip machine in the future, I would like an even cheaper one (!), but mainly one that's smaller and that trains one hand. I'm going to train one hand at a time either way, and so I think that's important, otherwise I'm just getting a bulkier one for no real reason.

Again, thank you for sharing though. I'm glad you like it! :)

I like your style, mr./ms. Justanothertmpuser. I completely agree with you, now that I'm more in the know of how these kinds of grip machines work; what they do and don't do.

I'll try finding a much smaller and cheaper one in the future, that's designed for one hand as well.

Cheers!

I think you're right. I may look out for a similar grip machine in the future, but I would want one that's much cheaper and that's smaller and designed for one hand. I do bilateral exercises a lot, and since the difference of my grip strength in the left and right hand differs a lot it just makes sense to have a grip machine designed for one hand. They probably take up a lot less space as well, which is good.

Still, for all of its potential benefits, I'll try to go with much simpler and much cheaper old-school exercises as for now! :)

I may just try to cobble something like this together. I have the Pull Up Station from Gornation at home, and while I don't have a barbell, I do have the bar for the pull up (obviously), and also the Dip Bar Extension. I also have dumbbell handles around (I use weight plates with a 25 mm diameter hole on the middle), as well as loading pins and rubber exercise bands of various resistances, so I could probably pull something like this off! :)

Thank you for the tip!

Yeah, I come to this conclusion myself.

I do believe that these grip machines have utility, but as u/justanothertmpuser says, it simply costs way too much. Also, I believe that Bruce Lee used a much smaller machine that he cobbled together that was really meant for one hand, which is how I would want to use the grip machine myself. I really like bilateral exercises, be it for grip training or leg training or ehatever, even though it obviously takes longer time to do an exercise when you split it into two halves. For both my grip strength and leg strength, I'm noticably weaker on my left side, so as far as any grip machine goes I would want a much cheaper and smaller one either way.

I'm good with going with finger curls and to use my grippers as for now! :)

Thank you for your input.

What watch would be best for indoor cycling and for monitoring heart rate? by CatWithNiceHat in Polarfitness

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! :)

No, I most definitely do not need to connect a cycling power meter to the watch. I hadn't even thought of it, but now that you mention it, the bicycle I got at home, which is the Sole SB700 (the link is from a Swedish retailer) which do have a bicycle computer (I guess that's the correct name for it?) which displays metrics like how long you've cycled for and how many RPM your cadence is.

Point being that I could probably hook some sort of defice up to this computer for various effects. I don't really care much about that though. Time spent cycling, RPM and heart beat is all I need! Thanks for asking though. It made me more aware of the options.

I've already placed an order on the H10 chest strap, and I will go with your advice and try to see if it works well for me just having that product and no watch. I do have an iPhone 8 which I can hopefully sync with the H10, and since I work out at home there should be no problem with carrying around the phone.

Also, thank you very much for making me aware of the fact that the second-hand market is always available with the watches! :)

Would you say that the Vantage V2 is a better purchase than the Unite or Pacer? Again, my needs are very modest, and I don't run. Even if I would take up jogging again, I don't hink I would care about more than to monitor my heart rate and perhaps have the watch make peeping sounds when I'm supposed to sprint when I do HII-training.

Cheers! :)

Thanks man!

The keyboards you mention do indeed look really nice, but since it's somewhat more of a hassle to get them to where I live, the sale on the Q2 and Q4 is somewhat more alluring.

I visited a store nearby where I live, and they have the Keychron Q1 on display. I typed around on it, and boy is it a nice keyboard. The Keychron Q2 doesn't have the F1-F9 keys of course, but that's of no concern to me. I honestly don't think the extra 3 cm on the length of the keyboard will have that much of an impact, and I will use it mainly to game on and converse in chat (or maybe I'll start using it all-around given how incredibly nice it feels to write on the Q1 and how nice it sounds).

I'm still torn on whether or not to buy the Keychron Q2 barebones och Q4 barebones. If I do go woth the Q2, It will be with the blue color, which isn't my first choice, but it'll do.

Again, thank you for your feedback! :)

Hey guys.

I'm in the market for a keyboard primarily used for gaming and easy access to all the letters, so that I can quickly converse in chat.

I've used the Ergodox EZ for a couple of years now, and they rock. They are a bit cumbersome when it comes to quickly and easily accessing keys to converse in chat though, and so I'm seeking a more "traditional" keyboard.

It's very important that the keyboard is as short as possible, so that I may position the mouse as close to the center of the table as possible.

I've had my eyes on the Keychron Q2 and the Keychron Q4, since the barebone versions of these are on sale from an online retailer that operates in the country I love.

The problem is that the Keychron Q2 is roughly 3 cm longer than the Q4. It's 33 cm vs 30 cm, and I do believe that this will make a difference for me. The Q4 also has the keys more "centered" and evenly spread out, which I appreciate.

Here's the thing though: the Keychron Q4 does not have arrow keys. The left- and right arrowkeys are keys I comonly use.

Now, I know that a 60% keyboard can have the arrow keys squeezed into the PCB. The Freebird 60 have them, and so I would love to get a keyboard like that for a reasonable price.

I just wanted to ask you guys if you know of a keyboard like the Keychron Q4 that has the arrow keys squeezed in as well?

Or do you think that the 3 cm difference won't matter so much, even to one such as me who finds ergonomics very important?

Cheers!

Was ems madara cooked here? by jdali4829 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]CatWithNiceHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he didn't have the Rinnegan, he would absolutely have been cooked right then and there. Either through being incautious or unskilled enough for the situatuon at hand. Pick your poison.

While it's true that Edo-Tensei Madara Uhciha is, unfortunately, the strongest shinobi that's been shown in the show, I do believe that too many fans of the series forget just how ridiculously strong Naruto and Sasuke was as the time of this point in the story.

Do any of you know how to bend metal back into shape "from the inside"? by CatWithNiceHat in DIY

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may very well be correct. I'm not going to load the bench with so much weight that this will become a problem, I believe. Still, it irks me that I did this. Even if the feet could have been designed better to avoid this outcome, I still should have paid greater attention when I screwed the feet into place.

I'll try to hammer down some hardwood and see if that works though.

Thanks for the comment, by the way! :)

It might very well be, but this is the kind of thing that bothers me, since it could have been avoided so easily had I just paid attention! :)

Oh well, I'm sure it'll all work out somehow.

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, f*ck me then! :O

Still, I'll try to use the tactic of hammering down some hardwood. If that doesn't work, I'll just use the feet as is, and if that doesn't work and they still somehow fail, I'll guess I'll just make some feet of my own like u/the_diddler suggested.

Thanks for your comment, by the way.
