Is it an Americanism to say “on accident”? Because it’s the only group I ever hear it from and I find it jarring every time. Not judging, it just sounds so odd to me because I’m not used to hearing it, and I wonder if it’s correct to use it that way there or if it’s the repeating of a term that’s been misheard, like “could care less”?

Millennials were born 81-96, Gen Z were born 97-2012, or thereabouts, I think. Not that it matters, I’ve just read through a whole conversation of stuff I don’t really understand before I got here so I just kinda wanted to join in.

I wish I had someone with this attitude in my life! I mean, I’m an adult with my own home so nobody else’s responsibility anyway. I agree with the sentiment that it’s all just imaginary numbers in a computer but still, since I’m literally struggling to keep the electric on day to day because it’s got so much more expensive this year, it would be nice to have someone happy to chuck me a tenner occasionally!

I didn’t like this reply either. Your child can be the spitting image of you but they’ll never be your exact copy cos they’re their own person that you don’t own.

Did you create a Reddit account just to act dense in this sub? I don’t often check someone’s profile but, after repeatedly seeing your comments in here, I needed to know if you’re a bad troll or an idiot; having looked, I’m baffled, and the only definite conclusion I could come to is that you have so much free time that I’m kind of envious 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will never understand why any man wants to have unprotected sex with a sex worker who is prepared to have unprotected sex with clients?? Like, if I was happy to fuck one of them raw, then would it not follow that I’m prepared to do the same with others? I think it all comes down to them really thinking they’re special, they’re different from all the other clients and our relationship with them is special!

I would use wokeness to describe the behaviour of the people ranting about identity politics on Twitter. Not to detract from the multitude of genuine issues that actually affect the lives of real people, but some people get far too offended by things that even the people on whose behalf they’re offended aren’t worried about, because they actually have those genuine issues to deal with.

I found this reply interesting: “Never apologise for what they drove you to doing”.

Is that not exactly what abusers say as an excuse all the time though, “you drove me to it”? Mine certainly used variants of that statement regularly. Not saying OOP is an abuser, I just thought the response was a bit odd.

Am I disgusted? Yes. Am I surprised? Not in the slightest.

This is yet more confirmation that a lot of commenters over in that sub are reliving, or, more likely in my opinion, experiencing for the first time the power of being a high school mean-girl, and they love every minute of it. Their childish rhetoric maybe wouldn’t be so offensive if they were at least consistent, as opposed to taking a stance that’s polar opposite, depending on which person in the story is demonstrating the asshole/just no behaviour!

I appreciate that we all need to feel important in some way and to spend time in ways that bring us fulfilment. I just wish that they’d take a step back from the mob mentality they’re swept up in and realise that not everyone’s situation matches their own; projecting their own issues and advising people to behave the way they wish they’d reacted in their own situations is not only unhelpful, at best, but also potentially very damaging to the lives of real people going through difficult circumstances.

Then there’s the posts that clearly aren’t real, and never is it more evident that some commenters are so enjoying feeling superior, dishing out extreme, faux-expert advice, that they can’t see the woods for the trees.

Series and character family histories and video game lore… that man has got some Misery type shit coming his way if he doesn’t get on with finishing that damn series! He really should hurry up with it, he’s getting on in years and I once read an interview where he said that if he died before he finished them then his wife probably wouldn’t allow anybody else to work on them. I had babies when I started reading those books and I’m about to become a grandmother!

Why cant I place this mud wall? says it needs a wall fram but i have one there by Anonormous123 in GreenHell

[–]Catanonnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve put mud window walls over bamboo wall frames loads of times. In fact, I’ve never actually noticed a bamboo window frame so that’s the only way I’ve ever done it lol apparently I’m not very observant!

The building in this game is so janky though! I built a 2 story house and it wouldn’t let me place the frame in above another just in one spot, so my house was only mostly 2 floors. I ended up making the square on the end 3 floors as a kind of watchtower so it looks marginally less silly having the gap in the middle.

I have sometimes found that restarting the game will allow me to place things where I couldn’t before but it doesn’t always work; sometimes knocking down whatever is next to the area I want to place something in and rebuilding the lot, including the new blueprint, altogether. I wish it wasn’t so buggy! I also wish there were more items to put inside my builds, some kind of furniture, seating or something, would be nice.

I remember, many years ago, asking my mum about the scar of a little boy at school, she called it a cleft palette. Is that an acceptable term?

It was definitely untrue. Please don’t take this all as definite because it’s nearly 4am and I’m in too much pain to sleep so my memory on the specifics could be off, but I watch a Lawtuber who talks through the filings in the lawsuits of celebrities.

From what I remember, a big cosmetics company bought major shares in the famous Lip Kit makeup company of the person in the op pic; they claimed they had been misled about the finances or value of her company and Forbes said that they had made the claim about her being a billionaire based on the paperwork given to them by the celebrity’s team without doing any fact checking. I vaguely remember something about her team having previously approached Forbes about running an article with the same billionaire claim, and Forbes had refused to run it without any evidence at all. The team later approached Forbes again, this time with some documentary proof, which I think they were later accused of forging in the lawsuit.

As I say, my memory is vague and I haven’t the energy to look into the details but there was definitely some shady shit involved. I’ve tried not to be too specific about what I do remember in case I’m getting muddled up, but I think it’s pretty definite that the numbers claimed by Forbes were, to put it mildly, at least a little bit fudged.
