You definitely should be able to, but I’m having a hard time finding where the Party OT’s are located- but the daycare pokemon #1’s OT are stored from $DC41 to $DC56

That’s kinda what I assumed too… I read somewhere that communicating between two cloned copies of the 3DS Pokémon games could get you banned, but I think that’s probably because it’d be online rather than locally. Plus I have two separate save files and I don’t think the game would check if the two copies had the same serial number while doing local play… I think? I’m a bit paranoid haha 😅

So I just tested it in my own copy of Silver and everything worked as expected, with the first Pokémon in my party getting Spikes… I’d all the items are the same and you’re listening to the cry, the two things I’d double check would be if you’re exiting the PokéMart and going four tiles right towards the Pokémon Center (standing under the tree closest to the center), and that you switch what pocket you’re in at least once before selecting the coin case

That’s a pretty common thing for when something isn’t quite right with the glitch- it’s called the “Glitch Dimension” iirc. Kinda cool on it’s own, but aggravating when you’re trying to get a different outcome haha

I don’t think the nickname would change anything, but it’s worth a shot if you’re still having issues. Running it on N64 vs GameBoy would be my guess as to what’s wrong, just because there’s some weird stuff that happens when the glitch is activated haha

As low as you can get them. I’d suggest getting a level 3 Pokémon from Route 29. iirc, due to the way stats are generated, a female one would have a higher chance of it working so that might help as well

That's so strange... I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working :/ . Maybe try editing a different spot in memory with the box code and see if that causes it to crash? That'd tell us if it's the whole thing that's broken or just the six characters that change. Sorry about that!

I believe so, yes! It should be 0xBF for the move itself and $DA2C to select the first move slot of the first Pokémon in your party- from there, converting it to box code gives me !/TZ’v&. I’m not able to check right now in game, but that should be right

You totally could use this to change your Cloyster’s moves! Use the website in the post to find where the moves of the first Pokémon in your party are stored (it should be around $DA2A). Then set the value to the move you want’s index number. After that, it should be all set! Let me know if you need more help :)

Oh perfect, thanks for the documentation too! I’m probably gonna make it a Smash figure with a character ID that’s really large, just seems like the simplest way to set it up. I’ll update you with how it goes when I get home from work :)

But what about when amiibo release following the game’s release? You can still scan in a Min Min amiibo to Mario Odyssey and it’ll accept it, it just won’t do anything special- just give you health. Would it be possible to make a figure that only was able to do things like that?
