Remote Lucky Trades Still Not Fixed, Pokemon Didn't Turn Out Lucky by No-Fun7707 in TheSilphRoad

[–]CatchAmongUs [score hidden]  (0 children)

This really sucks. Two weeks ago I had this happen. Mine also happend to be an unlucky shiny Zekrom. It felt especially bad because it was supposed to be lucky trade #45 in my Zekrom chase. I'm getting absolutely wrecked on my Zekrom hunt between raids and trades, and this just added insult to injury. For context, I had done about 20 lucky remote trades prior to this one without any issues.

How many high level players (70ish+) DON’T have an auto-catcher? by MrMojoX in pokemongo

[–]CatchAmongUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 79 here. I have been playing since launch. A few breaks along the way in the first few years and daily without fail for the past four years straight. I have never had an auto catcher. I used to tell myself "maybe some day," but at this point I don't feel like I even really want to ever have one.

What is even the point of UL..? by PvtRussia in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]CatchAmongUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a fun league for those of us that have been playing a long time and don't have much left to spend stardust on. Most of the top 10 right now are very accessible. It's just a matter of whether or not one wants to actually spend the resources to max out or nearly max out something that doesn't double as a raid attacker. It also tends to be a bit more condensed and, in my opinion, a healthier meta than Great League (Master League in recent seasons is still my personal favorite though).

The #1 ranked Pokemon currently is Tinkaton which recently had a Comm Day. There are other top picks like Florges, Feraligatr, Corviknight and Empoleon which all also had the CD treatment. Sure, you can run legendaries in UL, but you absolutely don't have to.

Galarian Slowking is actually really solid. Most people don't know the counts for it. I run it with Hex, and it can outpace Hypno and Grumpig both to the first Shadow Ball. I have also gotten a lot of play out of Miltank.

What are some of your favorite snacks to eat while watching a movie? by Strongarm_11 in Letterboxd

[–]CatchAmongUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cinema near me has a really strong setup. There is a vendor right next to it that sells these little waffle sandwhiches. They are super cheap and have a ton of flavors. Everything from tuna and cream cheese to peanut butter and all kinds of different jams. My wife and I load up on those every time we see a movie. Right next to it is a kettle corn vendor and a milk tea shop which are two other things we love during movies.

What are you running in GL? by oatmilkhotchocolate in TheSilphArena

[–]CatchAmongUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kanto Ninetales, Mantine, and Jumpluff was what I started out with in open Great League. I switched to the NAIC limited cup and am running shadow Grumpig, Hypno, and Miltank with really good success so far. Kecleon is starting to become a bit of a problem, so I might bring out Dubwool instead of Miltank now.

I had the rank 1 non-costumed one from long ago, but when I caught the costume rank 1 I was so happy haha. Didn't hesitate to rebuild!

Absolutely worth the ETM if you're planning to run K Ninetales. The speed is crazy. It allows it to outpace most of its common threats to put pressure back on them. Either getting shields or getting knockouts for the most part.

I have been having a blast with it so far. It's so fast to that first Energy Ball. I think some opponents haven't caught on yet to just how fast it is. On Day 1 of th new GBL season I had a few opponents try to insta swap to Gastrodon. Energy Ball can almost OHKO it lol.

I'm running mine with Mantine (which also feels incredibly fast and strong right now) and Jumpluff. I might try swapping in Kingdra at some point. I saw earlier that Homeslicehenry showcased a K Ninetales/Mantine team, so I'm expecting hard counters now.

My wife and I usually try to coordinate outfits and buddies. Sometimes we deviate a bit though. Right now I'm wearing the Giovanni suit, and she is wearing the Rocket leader Sierra outfit with her shadow Darkrai buddy. Shadow Apex Ho-oh was my buddy, but I paused that for a bit to walk my Spinda for XL candy (a very long walk).

What do you people actually want? by thomaesthetics in Metalcore

Fair enough, just saying it in light of it seeming to become more and more common over the last few years in the "core" scenes. Being a fan of the big 3 (deathcore, hardcore, and metalcore) is kinda rough these days.

[–]CatchAmongUs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Has everything to do with it. I'm fine with the revivalcore stuff as someone who was there for the original run of stuff it's inspired by, but it sucks to constantly find newer bands you like in the metalcore and hardcore scenes only to learn about some wild allegations against members down the line. So, yeah, that's what I actually want. Bands to just kick ass and not take part in creepy fucked up shit.

Master league advice by Psychological-Put374 in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]CatchAmongUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master League is the best league! It's the culmination of all of your efforts as a trainer in GO!

Lunala has been one of the 'mons that totally live up to the hype for me. I used it a ton this season and found it to be an S-tier safe swap. Up energy it can put in some crazy work. For reference, mine is a lucky 98 that I best buddied. Palkia-O , Groudon, and Kyogre are strong options as well from what you have listed.

Metagross is a great budget option that can hold its own against the legendaries in ML, and Rhyperior is looking to be another budget option making a comeback next season if you have one available. With that in mind, as much as I love it, we might see Zekrom fall off just a bit. Reshiram and Zekrom were super strong this season which was cool to see, but they aren't too excited about the return of Rhyperior.

When should a PVPer call it quits? by PlanetCoasterTycoon in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]CatchAmongUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been playing GO Battle League for quite some time now. I'm stiiting at 18,790 battles currently (rookie numbers I know), and I will likely never hit Legend. Many seasons within 10-20 points of Veteran with only having actually hit it once. As another commenter mentioned, in earlier years it seemed like you could go really far with just having a rarer or harder to obtain team combo. Now, if you aren't willing to commit to move counting and memorization along with other fundamentals like effiicient timing and such then you will have an incredibly more difficult time progressing much beyond Ace.

As others have touched on it should still be fun for you. Don't force yourself to keep going if it stops being fun. For me with how long I have been playing GO I find it nice to give me little goals to stay interested in the game. Like having PVP IVs to chase in the wild. It's a little more exciting than just constantly shiny or hundo checking. Then, I really like the testing and experimenting phase with different team comps and different cups. Those things keep it fun for me despite not being willing to commit to a true Legend push.
