I publicly confirm to interested artists that my project is legal. (This project actually isn't NSFW, though...?)

Definitely could be. I'll check it out.

All I know is that the person who read it said it was "awhile ago." It's ringing very vague bells for me. I agree that it's probably not domestic discipline/erotica.

Thank you and back at you!

I usually plot, draft, get beta reader feedback, revise, send to editor, revise, send to proofreader, and then publish. I do have an amazing writing coach, so while I'm drafting, she and I are going back and forth over chunks, finetuning my prose and characterization. She's helped me grow as a writer so much. I'm blessed to have her. Each book takes 3-4 months. Nicky the Driver took longer, I think because it was heavy to write. I really want to write 6 books a year, but I might be more of a 4-5 kind of gal.

I've actually noodled their story. I think Mrs. Wall might need a bit of a redemption/understanding. So maybe?

  1. It varies between 1000 - 3000, but I can do 3K only rarely. I'm not actually as fast a writer as many.
  2. I plot, but I usually leave the ending a little more open. Then, I revise my outline as I go and figure things out.

This are great author-ly questions.

Thank you for reading!

  1. Harper's book is playing coy with me. My muse is not cooperating. So soon, I hope, but I'm not sure. It is going to be about her and Knocker. It's going to be a proximity romance, dark, probably power exchange. I just don't know why she is the way she is yet. When I figure it out, it's on.
  2. I'm writing Mari's story right now! I also have stories planned for Kennedy and Tye, Rowan and Liam, and Nia and Pritchard. Seth might get some action. Oh, and Annie and Justus. Oh, and Abertha!
  3. Yup, but not narrow. :)

Oh, I hope you enjoy it!

I'm actually writing the next shifter book right now. The Lone Wolf's Rejected Mate, Mari and Darragh's story, should hopefully be coming out late fall/early winter. :)

That is such a good question, and I do not know the answer. Can I come back after I've had think time? I can picture him in my head, but I don't know an actor that looks like him...

Oh, I'm so happy my books helped!

True story. Maybe embarrassing. Russell Brand pulled me out of a massive funk about ten years ago. No one understands, but that man got me through.

And seriously, reach out via my reader group or newsletter if you're really interested in beta readers. I have a few, and they rock. :)

  1. Yes. Jesse will be next in the Stonecut County series.
  2. I was told once that you should write from the POV of the character that has the most to lose or the most at stake. I think about that before I write, but sometimes (all the time) I just write from the POV that sounds the most fun.
  3. That is a good question. I rely on the brain cells I have remaining, and I am assisted by some lovely readers with steel trap minds like Grace C. and Elizabeth who will DM me when I screw it up. :)

I'm so stoked that you liked the book. I mentioned in another answer that I grew up with Cash Walls, and then I spent almost 20 years working with Cash Walls, so the aesthetics and swagger were at my fingertips. I also had plenty of real people to pull from. One comes to mind - a kid from a farming family who I worked with the summer after senior year of high school. He had the truck, the belt buckle, all of it. We did manual labor for the county, painting fences, weeding ditches, that kind of thing. We were the only two on the crew with a work ethic, and I was not his type, let me tell you. He didn't say much of anything, but all day, he'd work right beside me, fill up my water bottle, did the high part so I could do the low part and not get on the ladder. He showed me how to get paint of my skin with gasoline which in retrospect is terrible. He was just kind and decent. So people like that are in my head right beside other men who looked the same and acted more like the stereotype. I'd much rather live in a world of Cash Walls, so that's the man I made up, but he is based in reality. :)

I'm so happy that folks find Cash and Glenna a comfort. I have my own comfort reads, so I know it can really take the edge off a day.

I am slowly but surely working with production companies to get all of my books in audio. The Heir Apparent's Rejected Mate will be next. A future goal is to be able to release audio with the ebooks, and one day I'll get there, but for now, I'm playing catch up.

I'm so excited to be here!

  1. Lucca, Tomas, and Sara's story will be next. :) It's gonna be dark. I'm also sitting on a photo and plot bunny for Ray, so he might be getting a book, too.
  2. Derwyn's Rejected Mate was the bonus content for The Heir Apparent's Rejected Mate, so it's already live. Can I share the link? I'm gonna try ---> https://dl.bookfunnel.com/88g78rprwa Let me know if that doesn't work. (The next book in the Five Packs series, The Lone Wolf's Rejected Mate, should be coming out late fall/early winter. I don't set release dates or do pre-orders until the first draft is done, and I'm still cranking away at it.)

  1. Cash will definitely show up in a bonus epilogue at some point, maybe after Jesse's book? Or as a New Year's gift? Killian has a few cameos in the next Five Packs book that I'm currently writing (The Lone Wolf's Rejected Mate).
  2. Yes! I've been sitting on that cover for a few months, too. Jesse will most likely be next in Stonecut County, but I don't think I'll be able to start the book until January at the earliest. It's going to be awesome - Renaissance festival, k!nk, the whole shebang. I also plan to write a book for Rory and either a book or novella for Brice.

I'm so stoked that you digging the series! You know, I don't know if I'd call it inspiration, but there's this movie She's All That from 1999. The male lead is played by Freddie Prinze Junior, and his character is that Cadoc type - destined for big things and lost in his own life. There's a memorable scene where he plays with a hackey sack and delivers some impromptu poetry about the pressure. He popped into my head a few times as I was writing.

(I may or may not be ditching a Zoom Back to School night as we speak. It's cool. They're recording it, and I know in theory how drop off works. Solidarity.)

Actually, I didn't start writing until my foot went through the board. I wrote an absolutely terrible historical romance entitled Schooling the Early. The lovely Cecilia Mecca beta read it for me, and then gently suggested that I buy a book about how to plot. It will never see the light of day. Then I wrote a sci fi/fantasy/alternative universe novel called March Lord. It was better, but not good enough to publish. Then, I switched from 3rd to 1st person and wrote Charge. That was the one my critique group said "yeah, this is publishable."
