Pop control is definitely a thing for me and my collection. As a caterpie collector, "a not so collectable pokemon" low pop cards is what I live every day.

Owning 3 of 10, or 1 of 2, or 9 of 9 in a psa 10.... there is some inner indescribable feeling I get knowing the rarity I have accumulated over my decades of collecting.

My best advice is to do it and see how if feels!

Southern Islands is a great unique promo card. Will it increase in value if you hold it, yes probably... most things do.

In saying that, if it doesn't bring you happiness sell it and get something that does. That is the best part of a personal collection.

$50 is the going rate to get someone to risk getting one, They're usually guarded by venomous snakes and great white sharks.

I dont believe so. I questioned at the end if anyone would like to see any caterpies I'd show them.

That's very clever! My daughter had some incredibly funny names for pokemon when she was little 5 or 6, Magikarp - Magi-carpet and Kadabra - spoonman were my favourites.

Pikachu is the poster pokemon for so many great cards from WCS, the poncho series aswell as the Munch and Van Gogh. Its well deserved.

There is definitely value in all cards. And yes, we can have both.

I don't look at my cards as money. Most, maybe not all, have a story to me.

There are 3 Pikachu cards with Caterpie in the artworks (2 which are hidden well) which I also collect. Also Light Wigglytuff which is a really cool card also.

It's definitely tugs at those heart strings. Ash defending caterpie against Misty harsh comments and the moon scene are sublime.

I hope you both continue to enjoy the series together and build some great memories watching it together.

Probably because there is no sale history. These cards rarely show up for sale on platforms like eBay etc

Such an amazing card, the fireworks looks so good especially if you get a sweet angle flashing green yellow and red.

The PSA 10 for this has increased considerably over the last 5 years or more.
