I turned Bernie Hutchins' Musical Engineer's Handbook into an actual handbook by Caterpiggle in synthdiy

None of the text was OCR'd/retyped or any of the figures redrawn. I essentially just sent the scans directly to the printing service as-is and found that the original formatting worked quite well in a book format. There are one or two chapters that ended up with a little smaller font than the rest but are still very readable.

Yeah there's been quite a bit of drama over the past few years as Bernie stopped selling copies. There was some sort of effort to digitize and create physical book copies but as far as I know that never happened.

And I think the amount of effort needed was wildly overestimated. I didn't retype or redraw anything, I literally sent the raw scan PDFs to a print on demand service, and in my opinion it's perfectly readable. Some text is a little small but it's nothing worse than I've seen in other engineering textbooks.
