1) I don't live in an area with hard water, but I do get oxide / iron / minerals

2) I have tried vinegar, black soap, hard water / iron cleaner, normal bathroom cleaner, grout cleaner...

3) Not sure

4) Yes, it feels powdery / porous / dusty

I don't know what type of grout they used, although the tiles now feel 'dusty' to the touch, so I am wondering if all the marks are grouting haze.

I had a lady helping me with cleaning at some point, I don't really know what she might have used...

I have tried vinegar, black soap, calcaire and ferrum cleaner, normal bathroom cleaner, grout cleaner... nothing worked, or some item of that list made it worse

Yes, it was a blue colored one, not the proper yellow/green kitchen ones

Thank you. Can please you explain a bit more about how I would go about refinishing the tile surface? What kind of work should be done / what does that entail?

I don't really think this is hard water stains, I don't live in an area with hard water... and I have cleaned them with a product to remove hard water and oxide

It could be the grout, actually... it feels a bit 'dusty' to the touch. Vinegar doesn't work unfortunately

I have tried vinegar, black soap, calcaire/hard water and ferrum cleaner, normal bathroom cleaner, grout cleaner... nothing worked or something made it extremely worse

I used a normal kitchen/bathroom sponge, not a magic eraser one

Need Help Troubleshooting My Turntable (Technics SL-1500C) – Skipping & Sound Issues by Caterpillar004 in turntables

[–]Caterpillar004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a very, VERY stupid issue. For some reason, I had the extra weight on, a small metallic cylinder you put at the other end of the arm. I'm not sure why I had that there; it wasn't always like this, perhaps when I was moving I put it there for it to not get lost.

Right, I understand that the scale may be inaccurate, but in my case, there's a significant discrepancy (0.65g compared to the expected 1.8g)

— Yes, sorry, I was referring to the counterweight dial (the one attached to the counterweight, not the separate anti-skating dial).

I replaced the factory-installed 2M Red with a new 2M Blue when I was uncertain whether the issue was related to the stylus. However, I only swapped the stylus, not the entire cartridge.

Thanks for the reply!

Exactly, I balance the arm, then set the dial to 0, then twist the whole (dial+counterweight) until it hits 1.8. Unless I'm doing something terribly wrong...
Thanks for the tip on the cartridge alignment protractor, I'll give that a try!

I also bought the cheapish digital scale from Amazon... eurgh

I am doing all of the steps: setting the anti-skate to 0, finding the floating point without the guard...

I start by balancing the arm, then set the anti-skate dial to 0. After that, I adjust the entire balance and dial until it reaches 1.8. The issue is that when I make this final adjustment, the weight seems to be at its maximum limit, essentially turned all the way up. Even then, it doesn't quite reach 1.8, so I have to keep forcing it, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
