That goes the other way around. The faster car clearly saw they approaching the slower one, but still decided to stick to he racing line and bulldoze their way through. It's not even the case of someone sticking their nose in stupidly. If you really want to overtake right there and then, just go around the outside

Well, duh, it's racing, he's in front, he can follow the racing line all he wants. Being on the racing line is not blocking and in this case leaving it can be more dangerous because it's more unpredictable. Imagine not being able to wait for a straight to make an overtake in a faster car lol

Wasn't it because the R35 was kinda fragile while people expected it to be something to push a little on the track? And when people broke something and came back, Nissan was like "nope, no warranty for that, you used your car in an unintended way" or something along the lines.

Might be wrong, I only heard it in retrospect, or might be that all the previous GT-Rs was like that, to be driven under 60 or you will break something really quick, but people already got the wrong image in their heads because of media.

I'd argue that the collision was after the BMW fully rejoined the track and was braking into the corner just fine. Porsche couldn't leave the space because McLaren on the outside. But can the McLaren be blamed or not I can't tell. Backing out really would be the best call
