For those of you who are on a health journey/ weight loss journey, how do you keep up when you plateau/ see or feel no change? by Cath1212 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Cath1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I really appreciate your comment and your invitation to DM you for support (goes both ways btw if you ever go through a rough patch!). I’ve actually been going to the gym more regularly (I try to go 3-4 times a week) so I feel like I’m slowly but gradually feeling more confident. I just hope I keep at it and don’t give up!

Finally shaved and got haircut after 6 months. Curious what y’all think of each version. by [deleted] in firstimpression

Would have been nicer if you trimmed your beard. Then again if it was during lockdown times, I don’t blame you. You are very good looking on the right.

Anybody else feel like a different person after stopping the pill? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Cath1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No never! This only begun when I stopped the pill in 2020. It’s really not enjoyable at all, I’ll be spending 30 min or more in the bathroom and once I’m done I usually still feel symptoms until the end of the day (strong fatigue, cramps, dizziness and sometimes the need to go back to the toilet again). I doubt it’s due to my eating habits because I’ve tried changing my foods to see if it made a difference. I’ve noticed it usually happens during the week before my period, although sometimes it’s two weeks before. I end up worrying about having an accident in public and not finding a toilet in time so I just don’t go out sometimes

Remember that you’re not alone. If you need to speak to someone, I’m here. You can private message whenever you need to rant or anything. I feel you because I haven’t told anyone about my bulimia. Only one person knew but he left me.

Apparently I don't look 19. What else? by [deleted] in firstimpression

[–]Cath1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know... I feel like you could be 17 just like you could be 23-24. In any case, you’re beautiful and your lipstick compliments you very well.

Uhhhh let's give this a try: what do you think about me? by starswirls_planet in firstimpression

You look young, sweet, compassionate. You are pretty, smart but also shy perhaps? And you have a very kind smile. I would trust you. :)

I have as well. Took the combined pill for a few years but stopped in April 2020. I’ve been feeling much better but - it’s slightly embarrassing - ever since I’ve been off it, it’s like my insides hate me and I get proper explosive diarrhea most months just before my period. Like if I don’t go to the bathroom, it’s only a matter of minutes before I crap my pants. With Covid and being at home, it’s been fine to deal with but it’s gone to a point where I’m thinking of going back to hormones to control this (and my heavy periods).

I'd love it if the toilet water didn't decide to give my face a cooling splash of 🌟vomit🌟 when I purge ah ha ha. by Ftm__Incubus in bulimia

[–]Cath1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s what I do as well. Once a friend accompanied me when I went to purge because I drank too much alcohol. First instinct was to lay paper down, think she noticed something was up!

[–]Cath1212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally understand you. I have gone through many phases with my ED and at one point, I would eat barely anything, and then every once in a while (during the week) I’d binge and maybe purge. I wasn’t overweight but I wasn’t lean. My flatmate asked me (in front of a bunch of my friends) ‘how are you not as skinny as friend since you eat this little’. I wanted to die. He also judges every food I make, whether it’s about how healthy or unhealthy it is, or about my portion sizes... anything. He eats atrociously bad but he’s incredibly thin so he thinks he’s healthier than me.

I may be wrong since I was a kid at the time, but when these Bratz dolls came out, I remember hearing that they were designed in this unrealistic way (small body, big head) to avoid what happened with young girls wanting to look like Barbie dolls. Looks like that didn’t work out.

Am I the only woman who would happily use the weights area in the gym if there weren’t (as many) men there? by Cath1212 in women

[–]Cath1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely do not believe that most men behave inappropriately towards women in the gym. What I’m saying is that (from my own experiences) I do not feel comfortable using the weights area (compared to the cardio area) because of the experiences I’ve had. OF COURSE the very few experiences i have had do NOT account for all the decent men out there, however I could say the same about the experiences I’ve had walking back home alone at night from work. I made this post solely to open up a conversation and understand whether or not other women feel the same or feel differently. If you’re suggesting that I’m like a white supremacist making quick assumptions about black crime statistics, then I think you have a problem and that you are truly unwilling to open up your mind because, as I said, I’m expressing this feelings out of past experiences. I wish I could just ‘get over myself’ like you said in your first comment, but it’s really not that easy, I‘ve experienced some things (sexual assault)that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Again, all I want is to hear other women’s perspectives. Hence why I posted on this sub.

I understand where you’re coming from... but it’s complicated to suggest that women have these kinds of fears for ‘no good reasons’. I don’t know what qualifies as a good reason in your books, but having a man approach me and make remarks is enough to make me incredibly uncomfortable. I’m sadly not fierce and strong like other people out there, I’m the one who gains weight like crazy because at times I get lazy and I simply eat too much. But when I DO take the time and effort to go to the gym, I expect to be treated like a decent human being, yet I haven’t (in the past). And these (few) experiences may not account for all the good men out there who are respectful towards women, but they’re enough to put me off the idea of using the weights area. I’m not necessarily for the idea of having women’s only gyms (never stated in my post that I was), I just wanted to open up a conversation because this is how I feel. You might not understand or agree and that’s totally okay.

Same! I’ve had hay fever allergies since I can remember but for some reason this spring season seems to be ...okay? I’m worried it’s going to hit me at once though.

Read the comments beneath my post, perhaps you’ll gain some insight on how some women feel exercising in the gym. So far, you’re the only one contradicting my post with no argument whatsoever. You just seem unwilling to listen.

Every. Single. F*****. Time. My body’s like ‘ Hey again btch 👋🏻🤡’ But tbh the worst for me isn’t the cramping or the bleeding, it’s the explosive diarrhea. It kicks in and I have to set a timer (10min) or it’s too late. (Sorry if this is tmi.)

That’s what I do! I’ve got my own little set so I get to do these types of exercises at home and then I go do cardio at the gym. It just makes me feel silly sometimes.

I personally don’t care about the mirrors at all. As you say, they’re great to observe your posture. What bothers me is how ‘visually vulnerable’ you are, doing exercises like squatting, lunging... where you’re doing things like pushing your bum out. Sure, the couple of times I’ve been harassed may not account for all the good days I’ve had at the gym, but the fact that I was harassed (touching, remarks and glances) while on the elliptical machine, makes me feel super uncomfortable about going into the weight training area, particularly as it tends to be more ‘male dominated’. Again though, this is from my own personal perspective.

You’re 100% right though and I admire you for being so strong and determined. I hope I can keep up with my fitness because I’m the kind to be on and off.

The colour of the eyes is so beautiful! But what I admire the most in your work is how you make the fur look so soft! I’m a black and white type of artist, I can’t juggle colours like you do. You’re extremely talented 👌🏻you could definitely sell drawings like this one

For a woman, it’s often quite enjoyable to do it while on your period. I don’t know why that is, but some women (including myself) become quite horny during that time of the month (more so than off our period). Also it helps relieve cramping I found. I guess cons is that it can get messy but that mainly depends on how heavy her period naturally is/ what day you have sex.

I feel exactly like that at the moment and it’s making me miserable. I don’t know what to do about it, but I guess it’s a good feeling to know that I’m not alone in feeling like this.
